Finally broke down and got one. Circuit City.com had the Velocity Micro Android Cruz reader for $119, figured for less than a Kindle it was worth taking a shot on.
how do you like it? I saw it for that price from their sister site tigerdirect. I was going to pull the trigger and buy it too but I really want android 2.1 or higher and would love a 10" screen with hdmi.
how fast is it navigating through the internet? Have you been able to get apps easily?
if you were confronted with a naked 10-year-old boy in the shower you'd probably do the same thing a huge disgusting fat woman i only continue to post here because it irritates people

I got a regular nook for Christmas. I just wanted it strictly for books, and I love it so far. I travel for work a lot and it will be so much easier to just bring the nook rather than 5 books shoved in my carry on.
You can go on the internet with the regular black and white Nook too, but it's kind of slow. The page turn thing is instantaneous and I haven't even noticed it. The e-ink display looks like a real book. I also just found out that with the Nook, you can borrow books from the library for free. Now to just find someone who will let me use their NY Public library # since they have a tremendous e-book collection...
I'd probably end up jacking eight or nine times a day, up from my usual 5 or 6. I will suck a cock. You can't neglect the balls Putting someone's cock in your mouth isn't intimate?

The e-ink is definitely superior to a LED screen for reading, but it's a tradeoff; you can't really use it for anything else besides reading. That's why even though I am planning on getting an iPad (I wanna see if new ones are introduced first), I'll keep my Kindle close at hand as well.

The new ipads will probably come out in April.
It's a no-brainer to me. Yeah, you can spend a lot less and just get a nook, kindle, whatever, but the features on those are pretty limited. With an iPad you can have all of the readers, and besides price variances there are differences in what titles are available, plus all of the other ipad/iphone apps and features.

If you only could get one, of course the new iPad is the way to go. But e-readers are plunging in price to the point that you can probably have both now. I've heard people saying that by the end of 2011, an e-reader could be as cheap as $50.
You're right, the iPad is clearly a superior device. And I don't even mind reading on the Kindle app on an iPad; setting it to white text on a black background really takes care of a lot of eye strain issues it might cause otherwise. But there's no reason you can't have both. Not anymore.
a bj from a guy is as good as or better than one from a woman. If I was a girl I'd probably break my back trying to go down on myself

Sure the ipad and or the galaxy have much more to offer than ereaders, but once I hacked my nook, I can load apps (including the kindle and google reader). For a couple of hundred bucks less than either of those others.
I picked up the Pandigital Novel 7 today. They were retailing for $179-$199 this xmas but last night I read on some android tablet message board that Kohls had them on sale for $59. I went to 2 near me and they were sold out. I spoke to the manager and he said they were selling them for $199 for xmas and now they are just trying to unload their inventory company wide b/c they dont usually carry electronics it was just one of those things they added during the holidays. Anyway so I decided to call the store a few hours after I left and the manager had 1 left. I asked them to hold it and picked it up. When I was checking out they had a promotion to sign up and get an extra 15 % off. After the discounts and taxes I only paid $54 for it. Ive been playing around with it and so far so good. I wish it had android 2.1 or 2.2 instead of 2.0 but I read they have ways to update the software.
Here is the link from Sears who still has them but not on sale. I got the white one

As soon as I get it I will let you know, it will not be here until next week.
Did you get the velocity cruz yet? what model is it?
The one I got I love but at regular price they are too expensive. My mother is interested in one so I figured I see if you got yours yet. The more I look in to the cruz the more it sounds very similar to the one I have and it seems pretty good.
I think there is only on model. Actually I think someone had one on sale this week, Best Buy maybe. I like it. The touch screen takes a little getting used to but it is a good reader and not a bad web browser either. It was well worth the $129 considering a Kindle is $139 and I cannot check box scores with one.

Thats exactly why I like these types of readers. They go on the internet, play videos, check emails etc. Actually they have multiple ones r101, r103, t101,t103 and then the most expensive I believer is the t 301!
Have you played the videos? Is it synced with an online store like BN, Kobo, Amazon (I doubt because only kindles are), Borders etc?
Best Buy has it on sale right now for $99 I think its the r101 or 103!
I was just a dickhead contrarian even back then. running from the local animal control agency for cat hoarding

So I haven't been reading that much lately because the bookstore that I spent many a hour in closed last year. Is an e-reader the logical next step for me? I have boxes upon boxes of books in my garage, so I am fine with not adding any more hard copies to my collection. Is kindle still the best?

Do them both. Get an ereader and check out ebooks from the library. They all do it. However, some publishing houses have recently decided not to let the libraries do that for their books.
i bought my wife the kindle fire and she loves it. she especially loves the fact she can download my ebook A Collection of Fictitious Malarkey along with the other 537 people that have downloaded it.
she also likes the app stuff and she can download the latest episode of Walking Dead since she cant watch them on tv since we had a toddler. just wish it was 3g instead of needing a wifi signal around
