Meyer gives him a 1/2 game suspension? Against Vanderbilt?
I'm more shocked the SEC agreed with the punishment.
I mean, the Pile is "the Pile", where all sorts of awful stuff goes on, but with something that blatant, you've got to at the very least suspend them for a game, especially something that dangerous, and with that amount of malicious intent.

Exactly. They've got Vandy this week. They don't need Spikes to beat them. Meyer (and UF) would have looked better had he at least suspended him for a full game.
Or more.
I hate this kind of shit. You're going to "retaliate" against a 3rd or 4th string tailback later in the game because your helmet got pulled off by someone else?
To me this is on par with the LeGarrette Blount incident after the Boise game.
I think's Blount's punishment was too severe, and I think Spikes is getting off too lightly.
I think that each was deserving of a multiple game suspension. Not one half, but not an entire season either.

I agree. Its not quite on the "Haynesworth" level on the football crazy scale, but its close to it.
Its at least as bad as the Marcus Vick stomping a few years ago.

I'd probably end up jacking eight or nine times a day, up from my usual 5 or 6. I will suck a cock. You can't neglect the balls Putting someone's cock in your mouth isn't intimate?

Here's the BCS Destroying Scenario I'm hoping for...If Oregon runs the table, and Texas loses, I can see Oregon leaping over them to face the winner of the SEC in the BCS "Championship" game.
And to make things even spicier, imagine all this happens after Boise State, who beat Oregon head-to-head, finishes undefeated, which I think they will. It'll be a glorious trainwreck.

I have been rooting for all the undefeated BCS conf teams to lose one.
Perfect "chaos" scenario would be to have two of the one-loss BCS conf champs jump over TCU, Boise and I'll throw in Cincy, even though technically the Big East is a "BCS" conference.
I'm really hoping that LSU beats Bama this weekend, and then the SEC West winner knocks off Florida in the SEC title game.
As much as I love this conference, I hate the idea of the BCS title game having two undefeated teams from BCS conferences, and being able to look like they "got it right".
Iowa can still lose to OSU. I can only pray for a miracle upset by A&M over the longhorns. I don't see a Big 12 North team beating them in the title game... but then again, I didn't think KState would beat OU in 2003 either.
Let them try to pick only two from one-loss Oregon, Texas, Bama, Georgia Tech, LSU, Florida, Iowa and then Undefeated Boise, TCU and Cincinatti.... that leaves a LOT of pissed off fans, states and congressmen.
But, alas, it's looking more and more like at least two BCS conf teams will survive undefeated... but I can hope.
Shit, thanks, didn't realize it had started already.
Have they brought up Turner Gill getting passed over for the Auburn job yet?
If not... they will, sometime during the game.
They can't seem to let it go. Hell, it was brought up again on an ESPN "Outside the Lines" episode just a few weeks ago, when AU was 5 - 0 under Chizik at the time, and Buffalo was 1 - 4 under Gill.
Yes, ESPN, we get it. You want to paint the SEC as a deep-south, racist conference, who currently has no black head coaches. And the ONLY reason Gene Chizik got the job over Gill was that he was white.
Turner Gill won the MAC conference with Buffalo last year... beating the formidable Ball State in the MAC title game. Of course that means that he's ready to be head coach at a SEC school.
I hate when it's a slow sports news week, and they have to re-hash shit like this.
Might as well talk about Sylvester Croom getting passed over by Bama again too while you're on the subject.

Or Kentucky passing over Doug Williams for Rich Brooks, since both were way more egregious than Auburn not hiring Turner Gill.

Yeah and he did it in a lot more games with a lot of those coming against scrub teams in his heisman season.
I know it's quite trendy to be anti-Tebow but at least put the stats in proper perspective.
Sure Tebow's played in more games ( 48 versus 33 for Walker ) but he also scored more TDs with fewer carries ( 614 versus 994 for Walker ).
That means Walker had 380 more carries than Tebow which equates to almost an entire season for Walker ( 274 carries in 1980, 385 in 1981 and 335 in 1982 ).
And Tebow got many of his TDs against ranked opponents so don't make it look like he did it againts only The Citadel and Western Kentucky.
