Feeling Guilt Needlessly
I went into a pet store during lunch and they had this picture on the door of a guy the police are looking for who stole a puppy from the place. The picture of the guy was a security camera shot and I noticed that the guy looked like me and had the same type of hat and coat I have on. Right away I am self conscious and was thinking of walking out, but my crazy mind thinks that I am being observed and if I walk out, someone will think I am the guy. So I walk around in the store (which I was going to do anyway) and look at the puppies. But I'm thill thinking that someone will think I am the puppy theif, so I start to get nervous and begin to leave. As I approach the door, I get the feeling I am going to be tackled or something, but nothing happens and I walk out.
Why did I feel like that? Does anyone else get guilty feelings for things you didn't do?

That's just being Catholic.

I asked a few people and some of them have admitted that at times they also feel guilty for things they didnt do. As a side note, my brother also mentioned that he usually can tell when he is being observed. You know that feeling? Im sure women (especially hot ones) who are checked out continually, just "know" when they are being checked out. I find it maddening. When I was in the store though it was likely my imagination that I was being looked at.

I get that feeling when I go into a store, can't find what I'm looking for, then leave empty handed. I haven't pocketed anything, but those scanner things just assume you're a thief until you have passed them innocently.
