You're right, the iPad is clearly a superior device. And I don't even mind reading on the Kindle app on an iPad; setting it to white text on a black background really takes care of a lot of eye strain issues it might cause otherwise. But there's no reason you can't have both. Not anymore.

Sure the ipad and or the galaxy have much more to offer than ereaders, but once I hacked my nook, I can load apps (including the kindle and google reader). For a couple of hundred bucks less than either of those others.
