When I was a kid on Long Island, my favorite hamburger fast food place was a place called Wetson's. They were located all over the NY Metro area. Anybody remember?

I'm looking down your blouse right now and you don't even know it.

Wetsons or Weston's?

I believe we had a Weston's where they had a char-grilled barbecue pit ...
It was on 440 in Jersey City...

Use to visit often, had good burgers...

I believe it was Wetsons and there was on on Empire Blvd and Flatbush Ave in Brooklyn right by Prospect Park in Brooklyn. They had Red and White Strips on the buildings if I remember

I always loved Wetsons.
They were a big chain in the Metropolitan area, and always advertised on WABC. The colors of each restaurant were orange and white, and were pretty popular until they went out of business.
We had one in Bay Ridge, it's now a Nathans.

We had a Weston's and a Goody's....both emulating a Mc Burger.
If I remember correctly, the price of one of these palatable pleasures was 15 cents.

We had one on Flatlands Ave. My Dad found a bug on his and that was the end of Wetsons for us.

FYI-The owner of Nathan's is the son of the owner's of Wetsons.

I remember when they sold a "California Burger": they put a thin slice of tomato on a patty of meat. They also added some awful sauce.
Then they closed down.

I remember it well. Great call. There was one in Freeport, Long Island near the LIRR. it turned to a Nathan's and is now a Dunkin Donuts.

on the spot where the wal-mart stands on route 46 in saddle brook, nj there used to be a drive-in movie theatre.
next to it there is now a staples, which is where the orange and white Wetson's stood.
great burgers with both mustard and ketchup on them with minced onions and a pickle slice. great fries too.
this was in the 60's and early 70's.

Hell yeah I remember.....there used to be one in the Airport Plaza on Rt. 35 in Hazlet, NJ. My Dad used to pick up my brothers and me from school at lunchtime and take us over for burgers. That was in the late 60's........Wow, what blast from the past.

The Wetsons in Hicksville featured a giant arch on either side of the building, and,of course as the wacky drop-in neighbor,Billy Joel.

Just for "old times sake ,I drove by it today,it's finally
been torn down and now...a brand new "Dunkin Donuts".

This is a great old string on the old Wetsons Hamburger chain.

Actually, the old hamburger chain that stood next to the old Route 46 Drive-In (Where Wal-Mart now is and at one time was a Bradlees) was a Goody's Hamburgers joint. They had the best salty fries around. The building is now Olympic Pools.

The Wetsons around here use to be on Essex Street in Lodi, NJ. Use it love their burgers too. Then it became a Nathan's in 1975 after they bought out the chain.

I miss those old burger chains, at least you had a choice , not like today. Back then you had Goody's ,Wetsons, Carrolls, Roy Rodgers, Gino's, BK and Mickey D's. You truely had Freedom Of Choice back then.

I remember the record store well. They didn't change the outside a bit. Still had the rings on the roof.

.

It was across the street from "Grants or Grands" and down the block from Barashes and a bunch of other relics. That area of Freeport even had a live theater. I don't think anybody but locals stop at any of the stores in that area. I think the location you mentioned had a Hardees befre it was Nathans.

We had a Wetson's and a Carrol's right next door to each other. I preferred the club burger at Carrol's. Then they got bought up by Burger King, blech.

Carrol's had a great burger and it was better than Wetson's. But Wetson's fries won hands down.. I remember when BK bought Carrol's and the old Goody's chain too. Fast food burgers were never the same again . The next best thing we had to Carrol's Wetson's and Goody's then was Gino's and Burger Chef until the early 1980's.

There used to be a Wetsons in the Bronx on Boston Post Road. The last time I was near that area, it was converted to a vegetable store. I remember Dennis James on television hosting a telethon which was sponsered by Wetsons.

Titus Oaks Records.

They'd buy your used records for like a buck a piece.

Oh yeah, loved Wetsons. There was one on Northern Boulevard in Flushing. I think it's an eyeglass store now.
