Around the time the Atari game came out, Magnavox Phillips came out with a better unit but it was never popular. I just found the game in my attic it is called Oddessey. The Pacman type game they had featured disappearing mazes and you could design your own as well. Does any one have any favorites of the simple video games ?

Can we ever forget many
sleepless nights playing "Pit fall"
Back then I would have to say
the best coin-op game.... Hmmm
They were all good.
Star Castle
Crazy Climber
Defender
Moon Patrol
I can go on forever.
BTW does anyone know where
you could buy an old coin-op
game? I've been looking but
haven't found a good place yet.

the company I work for has a list online of coin op games. most aren't really old but it might be worth a look. www.tricorpamusements.com

I'm afraid to set my dreamcast back up, because I know I'll end up playing Centipede for about a week straight :-)
I also loved:
Mr Do!
Joust
Q-Bert
Marble Madness (drove me nuts)
Tapper
Robotron
Defender
Mario Bros.
Moon Patrol
Gauntlet (elf needs food, badly!)
Crossbow (who remembers that one?)
I love the classic games, I'm so sick of arcades full of racing, shooting, and snowboarding games... ugh...
Thanks to Hosp for the Idea:

Crossbow (who remembers that one?)
I think I recall that- wasn't that an upright that had a crossbow setup pointing at the screen, and you had to take down the enemy archers and knights?
Marble Madness is just that too- MADNESS! I remember getting so frustratred at that game. Wanted to punch in the screen at times.

wasn't crossbow the one with the ghosts and goblins in the trees and windows. You would go from screen to screen killing as many as you can till they were all gone.
Some of the old school games are not the same with out a joystick. Almost impossible to play games like robotron or defender with out the quick response of a joystick or a double joystick.
We want Ron and Fez live in DC.

I remember playing clowns on my Commodore 64. Been a gamer ever since.
When we talk about the old games we always talk about game play never about graphics because back then nobody cared about graphics we just wanted to get our money's worth when we bought the games. Till this day I never finished Master Blaster on my NES. LOL
