I went snowboarding for thew first time yesterday and had a lot of fun, even if I'm so fucking sore. Anyone else out there snowboard or have any advice for a neophyte like myself?

I've never been snowboarding, but I like to consider myself Super Tricky.
Did you try holding back the control stick while pressing B?

yeah, I was using cheap ass rental gear. If I ever got serious about it, I'd look into buying equipment that I can't afford.

Keep your knees bent. Dont go to the bunny hill your liable to get run over by the newby. Go to a green trail to practice.
Sit! Heel!! Down! HELP!!!

I fell for your love when I was out of my mind
I fell for your love and now you tell me it's time
To kiss it away, To stand here and say,
Goodbye
Jon: I've been snowboarding for like 7 yrs now and I still suck, but I f'n love it. My suggestions are keeping your knees bent like burntrail said, oh and try an epsom salt bath to get rid of the soreness. I also recommend "step in bindings" as opposed to the kind you strap into everytime.

JustJon, welcome to the wonderful world of pain!! Just kidding, snowboarding is just too much fun. As for advice, I recommend:
(a) You take lessons, every time you go, especially if the places you visit offer good ones
(b)Learn to fall right. It sounds silly, but fall backward, and when you do, try to keep your chin tucked to your chest. You don't want your head smacking the ice or hard-packed snow.
(c)try to arrange your boarding in at least 2-3 trips. It's hard for someone to start and get some skill when you go up one day every couple of weeks, months or the season.
AND:
(d)friends (and tequila) are good at the end of the day to share stories and dull away some of the pain =)

Now I'm starving
What are they gonna do now?
