View Full Version : Good old fashoined bar or Club?
(I know its a usless post and it will die out after 5 replies)
Whitch do you prefer, the classic bar where you sit down pump a few buck into the jutebox and relax with your beer, or the club where your always on your feet dancing to the music and paying entierly to much money for your beer. Myself, I love the bar, As much as I love House and techno, I still enjoy sitting on a stool, listening ot the songs I played and relaxing with my beer.

Don't get out much anymore but I enjoyed both...
Hoboken had a few "old" time bars like the Elysian and Madisons which was on the corner of Washington and 16th I think(the last street where you had to make a left"
At Madisons they had clams and oysters for 3 bucks a half dozen and we would get the Weiss beer, with lemon...
The Elysian had one of the old time ceilings... I worked at the Poggi Press with a guy who lived upstairs name Bobby Taylor, he was so small and frail and had diabetes but would always eat candy... he lived a short life... They had a cartoon caricature? picture on the wall of him, he had blonde hair, glasses and a beard...
The old time bars were sometimes the best place to be but on some days they can be the most depressing, like when nobodies there and it's a Sunday afternoon and raining...
With regard to music clubs, it was mostly disco in the late 70's and early 80's but we would also visit a Punk club name Aldo's in Lyndhurst?
My wife and I had a great time at the Trump Marina, they had a great band and we danced alot...That was just a few months ago...

Thanks WWFallon!
Bar, I'd rather be in a place that has a pool table.
And I won't dance; so don't ask me.

bar, definitely a bar. better atmosphere, usually cheaper, and i'm not a club person but it really depends on the bathroom

Bar-- actually, there's nothing better than hanging in a bar on a Sunday afternoon in the summer!

Definitely bars...clubs are too stuffy and way too expensive normally.
It's not funny, my ass is on fire...

Bars....
bars with live bands = bonus!
I'll hit a club ocassionally but normally I'd rather not. However...for some reason I do think I see quite a few of them in my future.

I must say I lvoe bars taht have some good old jungle... ive been to many that have the whole stoole thing while someone spinin some jungle or house whatever
I'm not happy about the fact that you just puked on my shoe, man. But I'm cuting you slack because this is obviosly your first rave and you seem to really dig my music. I've gotta tell you, though; that ain't gonna stop me from coming down on you like the apocalypse if you puke on my records. So step back from my turntables and pull yourself together. Now, rave on, my friend.

Lounge.
Not quite a club, not quite a bar. More comfortable than a bar since they usually have couches.
