i am typing this wit one hand right now. why? because last night my other one was mauled by "man's best friend." buster flipped out on me, and turned it into raw chuck. me! i was the only one he listened too, the one who took him from the shelter when he was 6 weeks old and raised him for 10 years. he's always been a biter, but not me, and never ever like this. he bit down let go, and kept biting. i never saw such a feral look in a dog's eyes.

my poor boy, his mind must be gone, and i know what we have to do. that pain is worse than the one in my hand

I know exactly how you feel, Hippie. Putting down a dog that's been a long-time pal is one of the toughest things to do. It's something I've unfortunately had to go through twice in my life, and I offer you my best wishes and warmest condolences.

I'm not happy about the fact that you just puked on my shoe, man. But I'm cuting you slack because this is obviosly your first rave and you seem to really dig my music. I've gotta tell you, though; that ain't gonna stop me from coming down on you like the apocalypse if you puke on my records. So step back from my turntables and pull yourself together. Now, rave on, my friend.

Sorry man. I had a cat about 4 years ago where the same thing happened. She just lost her f'n mind and turned on me. It got so bad that I was afraid to be in my own apartment with her. I had to put her down.

And I cried like a bitch afterwards. No shame in that.

i keep looking at my guitar next to my bed, then back to my hand. if buster damaged a nerve when he bit me i might never get my finger dexterity back. and i'm pretty damn good too!

Hippie
I'm so sorry to hear about
your hand. I've never had to put
a pet down, but I know a few
people who have and it was hard
on them.

I'm glad you aren't holding it against your dog... it's not really him anymore :-( A lot of dogs do that when they are very sick, mentally or physically. I am sincerely sorry for your situation.

is it morose to cremate a dog and keep his ashes? that's what my dad wants to do, but it seems kinda morbid to me

There's nothing morbid about cremation, but those weirdos who stuff their dogs or cats, now that's morbid!
