...is on TNN right now. I watch this every time, "from Hell's heart I stab at thee". Does it get any better than that?
Do you believe the "Even Number" theory of Star Trek films which says that the even numbered sequels are far better than any of the odd ones?

Khan is maybe the best of the Trek films.
And yeah, the Even numbered ones are better.

i thought Star Trek 2 was good. "The needs of the many outweights the need of the few thus ends Spock".
Speaking of Star Trek (I only aw the movies and the original series and the premiere of Enterprise) does anyone think an awesome side note in an Enterprise episode would be dropping off the Gangster book on the planet that evolves into the Gangster planet?

Kahn is probibly one of the best sci fi bad guys in movie history, and if not that he has some of the best lines: "no kirk, you can't get away... from hell's hot i stab at thee, for hate's sake i spit my last breath at thee"...: ok so it's from shakespeare (or is it milton?) but his way of saying it was very cool :P
the action scenes are also great, making up for hte first film, because for me, im not into star trek that much, but the ships are great, especially the enterprise, it was a shame to have it just sit there most of the time in the motion picture

"Do you know the ole Klingon proverb that says revenge is a dish best served cold...it is very cold in space" God that movie does rock. I always tell people whether they are Star Trek Fans or not, to see this one. It kicks ass and you need no background in Star Trek whatsoever to understand the plot. What a kick ass movie...

The chest plate was an appliance.
Very convincingly done, I might add.
That movie rocked.
I liked the way they handled it. It picked up where Space Seed left off AND where ST:TMP left off but, it was also totally enjoyable as it's own piece of stand-alone entertainment. That's quite a feat!

Have you heard the director's commentary?
It has been widely debated that Ricardo Montalban's chest was actually a prosthetic piece that he wore during the film. In the director's commentary in the special edition DVD, Nicholas Meyer is quoted as saying that it was, in fact, Montalban's actual chest and that he was a very muscular man who worked out. During publicity for the movie, during an appearance on "The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson" (1962), Montalban explained that he was able to achieve the look seen in the film by doing push-ups. "A lot of push-ups."
Kahn kicks your ass.

No. I haven't.
But I distinctly remember hearing that it was an appliance of some type. I just clicked around and learned that there was quite some debate for quite some time about topic so... I guess the rumor got a least a little bit of traction.
Happy 30th anniversary Wrath of Khan!

THIS... I did not know. I wonder if there is another cut of the movie out there.
The Baby That Was Cut Out Of STAR TREK II: THE WRATH OF KHAN (http://badassdigest.com/2012/06/12/the-baby-that-was-cut-out-of-star-trek-ii-the-wrath-of-khan/)
http://cf.badassdigest.com/_uploads/images/23155/khanbaby1__span.jpg
As Badass Digest dug up from an issue of StarBlazer magazine, Khan Noonien Singh originally had a kid:
Khan originally had a child. In the movie the child first appears as Terrell and Chekov come upon the Botany Bay; Chekov sees the kid through a window briefly, and then the child scurries away. It's a moment of added tension as the two examine the wreckage of the ancient ship.
The baby doesn't show up again until the very end, and his return comes at a very sobering time. As the USS Reliant is in ruins, as Khan is all but defeated, he activates the Genesis Device, which still sits on the transporter pad. Attracted by the bright lights, the baby crawls towards the device... which then detonates, turning the Mutari Nebula into the Genesis Planet and killing everybody.
Thus far, no one's been able to locate footage of this child, but it does add a certain brutal poetry to a film that was rather lyrical already. Kirk had a son he never knew about, one who might've added meaning to a life of duty—and his greatest enemy had a child he sacrificed to his vengeance.
I never knew about the baby but I knew about everything else.
So that would have meant that Khan fathered the child with someone other than his "beloved wife".

Yes, be he never says when she was killed. So she could have had Khan's child.
Is that what we're figuring out?
I think the implication is that she died, along with 20 of his people, six months or so after their arrival. And if she had been the mother of the baby, the kid would be at least 15 years old (since that was how long they were marooned there).

I really hope that the villain in the next Star Trek movie (the J.J. Abrams reboot series) is not Khan. They've spun this series off into a completely new universe, so I hope that they don't feel like they have to follow what the original TV and film series has done. Do some new shit, guys.
That last Star Trek movie was an awful piece of shit. They're making another one?

You actually watched the whole thing? I think you should give it another shot. They're making another one because it made the most money out of all the Star Trek movies. I really enjoyed it and look forward to the next one.

Almost all of it. The way Kirk took command was stupid and made no sense especially with the story from the original series. Plus it made them all seem like contemporaries when they would have graduated from the Academy in different years.
Meh, this is the same reason I never watched that Battlestar Galactica series. I don't do remakes/reimaginings. Stop ruining my childhood!

Then why not use the alternate timeline from Mirror, Mirror (the one with beaded Spock)? They even used it in DS9.
