Speaking as a D cup here....underwires are great. They really hold up the boobies. I look like I have breasts of a 16 year old in my best underwire bra. And if you invest the money on a great underwire bra, the wires won't poke you in the boob.

One thing underwires do is seperate breast implants from the body. If you have implants and wear an underwire, the wire will start to work it's way between the implant and muscle it sit's on top of. The result is a crease I guess you could call it, running along the bottom of each tit.
