Does anyone remember that the possibility of Fez having autism was discussed at length when he was at WJFK? YEARS ago.

I also SEEM to recall that they said around then it had been ruled out. Does anyone know?

I seem to remember the same thing. It may have even been early on at XM.

I am 100 percent sure that Fez was tested for Autism and Aspergers (sp) and it was ruled out.
I even remember Ron giving Fez shit about it. Fez WANTED to be clinically diagnosed with the disorder... and Ron gave him shit for it. About how people with the disorder would give anything to be cured of it, and that Fez "wants" the disorder so that he'll have an official "excuse" for failure of a life.

NOW... maybe all that shit was a bit... and now this new thing is legit. I dunno. Couldn't say. But, yeah, I am absolutely sure that they've fully addressed Fez's Autism and the lack thereof.

I think when Fez was going through his phase where it sounded like he wanted to have one of these diseases as an excuse for not doing his job it was pretty damn insulting to the people who actually have to live with them.

Maybe, but he might be uninformed about what having a disease like that really means. If Fez WAS autistic, it could explain a lot - I used to deal in minor way with parents of autistic kids, and my impression was that it's the most painful thing in the world not to feel your own child is connecting with you emotionally. As a result, most of these parents became - not necessarily abusive - but bat-shit crazy when it came to dealing with the world. So - if Fez's Mom WAS as nutty as he says, maybe she had good reason to be.

More than that, though- I'd bet my house that a person who SAYS they'd like to have a disease - ANY DISEASE - has a poorer prognosis than someone who dreads that diagnosis.
