View Full Version : Have the birthday threads become moot?

I try to bump birthday threads for the members who still post here regularly, but I've noticed lately that each one gets only a few comments. Have they run their course? Should I stop bumping them? Will someone's panties get in a wad if I stop bumping the birthday threads because their life is empty and sad, and their birthday thread is the only thing that gives them a little happiness? I like the birthday threads, because it gives me a reason to search for specific smurf pictures, but I don't have to if no one really cares aboot it. I don't want to hurt feelings (actually, I totally love hurting feelings)....wait...what?

There's next to zero interest in them anymore, but it's always nice to know someone's out there thinking about you. Then again, people may feel shitty when they see only one or two responses. One of which will be spoon saying "who?".

how about a thread acknowledging the birthday without the ability to reply? That way those that enjoy the thought will get what they want and no worries about post count.
Maybe a good idea - maybe not...

No one cares about them anymore. like the chatroom, the blogs. The computer generated "Happy Birthday from RonFez.net" to their private email is good enough.

Yeah, maybe you've changed email accounts since you signed on here ages ago. The site automatically sends it to whatever email you signed on with originally.

Alright, it looks like most people are okay with it, so I'll keep bumping them. I like doing it, and PaulO thinks it's adorable. If I miss your's though, please know it wasn't intentional. I try to bump people who have posted at least in the last few months before, but sometimes I miss someone. Vive la birthday threads!
