I am using Google Chrome, and in the last week I have started getting notified, when opening threads on here, that there is Malware from CGISPY.COM, to open the threads I have to "enter at my own risk". The threads most likely to have this problem are the threads with the most views and posts, like the Random Thoughts or the Drunk thread. If somebody can make this stop that'd be lovely.

We'd have to go in and delete every picture hosted by cgispy. com in order to stop it. Since it only happens with Chrome, I'm inclined to believe it's no big deal. It's super-annoying, yes, but I'm not sure what the best way to handle it would be.

Sounds like a tiff between someone at google and someone at cgispy. Maybe they've broken up, and aren't invited to each other's birthday parties.

You shouldn't. We've created a system here where we are able to grab personal information like crazy. Bank accounts, credit scores, phone numbers, SSI, we've got the capability to get it.

Btw, you're due for an annual dental exam DV.

DV is actually 13 days overdue. I know a guy, DV, has the best whippets and assistants with happy ending guarantee. you won't even feel the implant on the back of the neck - for follow-up of course

Look at it this way. The pics hosted by cgispy have been there a long time. They didn't suddenly become malware. Chrome's detection rules are flawed.

In the last week is my point. Their detection rules change constantly. They obviously changed something that falsely reported the pics as malware.

Try doing what Google says...

Google Chrome phishing and malware alerts

Here are the messages you may see when phishing and malware detection is enabled:
<table class="nice-table"> <tbody> <tr> <th> Message</th> <th> What it means</th> </tr> <tr> <td> The Website Ahead Contains Malware!</td> <td> This message appears if Google Chrome detects that the site you're trying to visit may have malware.</td> </tr> <tr> <td> Danger: Malware Ahead!</td> <td> This message appears if Google Chrome detects that the web page you're trying to visit may have malware.</td> </tr> <tr> <td> Reported Phishing Website Ahead!</td> <td> This message appears if Google Chrome detects that the site you’re trying to visit is suspected of being a phishing site.</td> </tr> </tbody> </table> Disable phishing and malware detection

Click the Chrome menu https://storage.googleapis.com/support-kms-prod/SNP_2696434_en_v1 on the browser toolbar.
Select Settings.
Click Show advanced settings and find the "Privacy" section.
Deselect the "Enable phishing and malware protection" checkbox.

I didn't tell anyone to do anything. It looks like that completely turns off the feature. If they were any good, they'd allow you to turn it off on websites you decide are "trusted". Then again, what it's supposed to be doing is protect you from phishing. They describe that as sites that try to trick you into supplying personal information. I don't recall ever seeing something pop up on .net that asks you to enter any personal information. Their system is obviously flawed.

I just forget that not everyone on this board are part of the tight-knit community I enjoy here. How would dude know that me using "totes" annoys DelV and Papabear like nothing else? But in my defense, anyone who posts here and uses "totes" in anything other than an ironic way would be eaten alive.

It wasn't immediate because I was off my game. Does it still count, or is it too late?

tight-knit, my ass!
tell your buddies here
you'd like to borrow some money
and then see how many friends you got.

speaking of which, i wonder how much
that great humanitarian who
makes $200,000+ per year
gave to the poor halloween lady
with the multiple sob stories

That's just my point. Many of the people who post here are not part of the group of friends I've made here. And that's okay. I just need to understand that because of that, some won't get some of the jokes we have going, and will make stupid remarks based on that ignorance. I have several here who I know would help me if I needed it, and have in the past.
