Too bad they got rid of the three month Netflix sub it was originally packaged with. Good price still, if you don't already have a competing device.
I did a search to find a place to buy it and can't find it priced lower than $59. And that's on ebay.

Patience:
When it first went on sale, Chromecast included a free three-month subscription to Netflix (a $24 value) with its $35 dongle, an irresistible deal that Google was forced to rescind hours later, but the sales kept coming and the diminutive device was backordered until late this month.

I picked one up just for shits&giggles. I don't like it but I don't dislike it. I guess more apps need to be developed for it.
like I said, it's so-so at best right now

Like the idea of turning a regular TV into a smart one for little coin. But all I have is a desktop so not too sure it would work out.

If you install Google Chrome on it it should be fine

I looked at my TV last night and there is no mini usb so it would have to got to my pc and the cord they show looks short. Would my pc have to be on at the time for it to work?
I have chrome portable browser on desktops.
