Excellent point, my guessin' was just based on the day and the multi-culturalism of it. With it being pressure cookers, you can throw foreign nationals back in the mix now too. And as to the reaction in Boston as compared to in Texas: after the fertilizer plant blew, you knew that it was over, and it was time to start recovering from it. On the other hand, in Boston, you had God knows how many crazy assholes capable of doing something like that running around, quite likely to strike again. In fact, based on the amount of explosives that they did have and that they were using against the cops who cornered them Thursday night, you gotta think that they were going to strike again.

Then, after ABOUT NINE-THOUSAND police officers basically stripped every civil liberty away from everyone in the city, they found two people, who didn't even leave the city. How is this a win?

I'm just a bit conflicted, I don't know for sure how I feel about declaring a US citizen an enemy combatant, on US soil, then going into a catch at all cost mode. I know he is a fucking awful human, who did awful things, but what separates him from all the other horrible monsters who get due process? His ideology? His origins? We've certainly not thrown out search and seizure laws for people with much higher body counts. But in the end, I wanted this fucker caught, and remain glad he was. No rights were thrown out -- cops asked to search. If someone refused, I'm sure they had a judge on speed dial for a warrant. There was reasonable suspicion to search each and every home in that area and warrants could have been handed out extremely easily for the purpose of searching for bombs/suspects relating to the original bombing. If they found drugs it would likely be inadmissible because the warrant would have been specified for other purposes.
