Hey gang...
Happy belated Thanksgiving and a Happy holidays to all.
I realized how lost I am when it comes to updating, changing info and setting up basic web pages. I have mine all on Go Daddy and all was great until April of last year. well that was when, NM the remote Producer disappeared from the face of the earth. NM was a huge help and buddy in putting up changes, stuff and contributing to my sites as well. He's a real talented and funny guy actually. Its too bad he disappeared...just like Kyser Sosay in 'The Usual Suspects'...and Poof, he is gone.
I forgot he lived on staten Island...I hope he's OK with the Sandy stuff. SI got hit hard!
I also wanted to start writing again...somewhere.
I started up again a few months ago, playing along with the show in my head, writing down ideas and rants or shit that made for good fodder on the show.
I want to have somewhere to do that now. I guess I'm asking on how the hell do you set up a blog?
I might be the only one interested, but my head feels like its going to burst sometimes with ideas, jokes, stunts or just 'stuff'
I so wish things were different and I could go in the 'wayback machine', but I can tell you almost 90%, that as of now that ain't happening. Not in the current environment.
If anyone can help me out with this it would be appreciated. Mind you, I'm not asking for anyone to do it forme ( it be nice though and I'd have to trust you 110%), but somewhere that I could go to figure out this stuff.
I've bought the stupid dummies books for web pages and stuff and go Daddy is about as dumbed down as you can get, I think. that is just about how far I am behind the 3rd graders with this stuff.
Point me in any directions to figure this out? Like the scarecrow in the Wizard of Oz, some people go that and some people go both ways!!!
I'm also trying to add a way to send people some stuff in a link or e-mail directly over the internet, without having to send a hard copy of the files in the mail. I know its possible, but again, I just can't figure it out properly. I tried putting it on Skydrive and creating a personal link, but somethings not working with it.
any rec's on mass mail programs? ( dont worry, its not that Big Ass Card stuff from a year ago or something like what happened.

we have a blogs forum set up here,i'm sure the mods here wouldnt mind deleating a shit load of the shit ones and spam ones to clear up the clutter, then you could use that to link to others
plus you could just post in this thread and use it as practice and let us give you deconstructive critisism

There are no spam blogs. And, though no one reads any of the blogs, it wouldn't be right to just go deleting them for no reason. Get real.

My point is, there is nothing to delete. And we're not going to start deleting posts from legitimate members. Who decides what posts are "shit"? Would you want us going through all of your posts, and deleting the ones we didn't like?

Wherever I go, i am still arousing conflict!!!
If this was a radio show it would be great. The age old saying and rule for talk shows of any genre is...
Conflict = Comedy
That is why so many of these book people who don't get along or who see things differently. Shows like ONA, like it or not, it is a classic case of that when Opie gets in his moods and takes people down, sometimes for no reason. It appears. Like the Ralphie May interview recently. Imagine if they just had a nice chit chat about what he's up to...snore....boring.
did I like the way he was treated, not really. did I listen, get pissed off, annoyed at Opie at the time and have they gotten more and more material off that interview...you betcha.
will I still liosten...you betcha. Its like the Private Parts movie about listening to Howard. (when he was listenable)
that is one of my issues with the RNF show. the only real conflict that comes up is with Fez, and I just don't find that funny or easy to listen to. As a matter of fact, I try not to. when that starts, I will turn away as I find it hard to listen to. Especially when there is ganging on him. I think Ron should be the only one with a legit right to say stuff to Fez and to be hurt, put off or upset. I am betting I just see or feel things differently than most, especially the callers who constantly put him down and berate him.
than again, who puts the callers through and who picks up the phone if the calls aren't wanted as part of the show.
You guys can probably remember quite a few times, I would get yelled at from the studio, on the air to dump some of these callers. 'what are you thinking Staples, we cant put these calls on the air, or we arent going to go there with these calls' or the like.
OK...where was I...I guess I started some of the writing here after all, although not the actual idea I had.
Guys don't fight and argue over this...sorry.
to quote the late great Mr. King...
Can't we all just get along?
(fooled ya huh? Thought i was going with Martin Luther King didn't ya!!!
thanks guys and still looking for info. I know this isnt the place for the above rant, but, it happens and I cant stop the fingers.

Have you ever thought about trying to put together a podcast? I'd love to hear anything that pulls the curtain back on your life, the WNEW days, or you getting back into comedy.

Nah, thats not the name for a show or a podcast as I dont wanna get sued by the juice head pill poppin kid from the Jersey Shore. Yeah Laundry, working out and energy drinks with other half naked guys....what am I missing?
(other than the 6 pack abs)
I enjoyed working with Poo and we had a fun chemistry. A lot was off the air too when it came to writing, ideas and taking something and going with it. The kid was or still is so funny and talented, but so green and rough around the edges. I dont think he even knew what he had going for him....boy did he blow it. Hey in some ways we all did, or most of us who were still around for the DC move. Not crossing the Ben Franklin bridge again (yeah I know its in Philly, but dont know other bridges to get to DC)
I too am green. Green in some important areas as well.I never carried or was the #1 guy on a show. I was the go-to guy as Ron had said often when there was a need to get something done, get out of something or just go and stir whatever need to be stirred and be able to join in on just about any topic. that confidence Ron had in me was so cool, so amazing to feel and realize. I could never ever be on the level of fez as we knew him, but I was me and tried to be the best me I could be. Thats the joy of not being, 'the guy'. I say joy cause, I loved it...loved it more than writing bits that were on the air. Probably a lot more bits than most ever realized, but we were a TEAM. I guess you could call us the anti 2011-2012 NY Jets. where the guys on the team were all about their personal stats and letting the media and fans know what they accomplished and how good they were and a big reason they sucked and didn't make the play-offs. We did make the play-offs those 2 years FWIW and right or wrong.
OK, how did I get started on this again. I feel like a 1 trick pony whenever we talk and the old days get brought up. We all have our opinions on the old and new and I am just a confused listener now.
I haven't done the show or called in this year at all, as it would make one of my biggest fears come to a reality. I never wanted to be a 'Hanger-On'. I always kind of thought it was almost embarrassing and sad to be that and not know it. Again, like the athlete who doesn't know it time to hang it up, but keeps coming back for another year, like Ricky Henderson, for one.
some things I'd like to share, but I choose not to but I will say that the atmosphere at corporate radio is something very different. Would I still take advantage of an opportunity if presented, almost most definitely, you betcha 99 44/100 pure I would. Unfortunately an offer is a 2-way street, and it didn't happen no matter who was in the car with you.
I am def open to new areas now that things in my personal life have changed. I never shared this, but there was and is some very difficult illness in my family that I needed to deal with. For almost 3 years hands on, by myself. so even though it seemed like I fell off the face of the earth,I did for a little while, but sometimes there are more important things that pop up than following your own personal dreams. How many of us really truly ever expect lightning to strike twice? It happened once thanks to RNF and even Jeremy for taking their word and giving the the go ahead to hire me. I owe that whole part of my professional career to Ron for answering my e-mails and giving me the shot. Most likely what ever may come after this also...I wouldn't even be looking, albeit elsewhere, but its all cause of RB. (OK< have I kissed it too much yet)
Hey, you dont get to be the 'Producer of the decade' without doing some things.
One thing I always said and told other younger comics, actors whoever asked really about how people get their 'break. This was way before my RNf gig too. I believed that you never know when and where it is going to happen, if it does. So when it does you better be as prepared and ready at all times to try and take advantage of it, you may not get another one. All I say is do as much as you can for your career, your talent, and don't wait as it might be too late. You n ever know who is in the audience. For ex: even though not much came of it, but I was doing a gig in Westchester with my comedy group and after the show this lady approached and wanted to talk. It turns out, she was an agent at Abrams Artists and was interested in representing or at least working with me. We were in the middle of nowhere in west chester. you'd reaslly have to say, what are the odds that an gent is out on a Saturday night to see a group. Weird shit man.
Ok, enough tales of Lana Turner and Schwab's drug store.
damn I am all over the place.
I guess what I am saying in response to these posts is I wish a career came with a road map or even better a dummies guide for capturing lightning a second time ( why do I feel like I'm mixing metaphors)
I spoke to a few guys already and wanted to hoop up to do a show b4 Xmas, but hopefully will soon happen.
Ironically, its weird that when you go on job interviews sometimes it sites with you pretty weird that the guy or girl interviewing you is telling you about trying other companies and other shows and thatmay be a good idea to do. OK, not much reading between the lines there. Just imagine if something like that would ever happen....too weird to even consider...
Well thanks for great reading this past year. A successful, happy and blessed lucky '13' to all of you guys and your families this new year. Keep me filled in on the show's going ons.
Thanks for everything you gave me over the years too.
