My lease ends in December, but I started car shopping now so I know what I'm saving money for. I'm pro-active like that.

I looked at the Chrysler 300m, Camry Solara, Altima, Mustang, and Escape.

Then, I saw it.

The car.

My car.

The 2002 Ford Thunderbird, in black. With a hard top.

OH MY FUCKING GOD.

I've never had an orgasm sitting down in a car before, but the closest thing was when Ferris first sat down in the Ferrari in "Ferris Bueller's Day Off".

Sadly, the T-Bird is about 15-20 grand out of my price range. So unless I find a way to get that money in 10 months (which means I'd have to land a killer job locally) it'll be something to save for in the future.

For right now, the Escape is awfully good looking to me right now, but tomorrow comes the true test.

Will my fat ass fit into an Audi TT?

Stay tuned!

The TT is about 30K. The T-Bird is 35K to 45K, out of range. The TT is a little out of my range as is, it's at the very ceiling.

I have been car shopping for about 3 months now and I've had it. Not a fun experience. I thought I was all set about a month ago when I saw the Escape. I fell in love with that cute little SUV. But then I test drove it and I wasn't all that happy with it. Don't get me wrong, its a kick ass car but after I drove it, I realized it wasn't for me. I guess I am used to driving a car and not an SUV. It was really noisy and I just couldnt get comfortable. It sounded like i didn't have the windows rolled all the way up and the wind was whipping through. And the engine made a horrible zzzzzzzzz sound when I stepped on the gas.I had to turn the radio all the way up so I didn't have to listen to that awful sound. But then I drove the XLS which is the cheaper model. Maybe the XLT is different. I don't want to discourage you from getting it if this is what you want, this was only my experience. Like I said, I am not used to the feel of an SUV so that was probably why I found so much wrong with it. There are tons of them on the road so they can't be that bad.

I am finally done with the car shopping nightmare. I have chosen the 2003 Toyota Corrolla..Its kick ass and sort of looks like a Lexus. Going to make my downpayment in a few hours....

Good luck to you in whatever car you choose.
