This is a personal appeal to Robert Griffin III. I love watching you. I think you have the potential to be one of the great quarterbacks in the league.

For the love of God, please stop letting opposing teams hit you so much. Learn to slide, please.

don't care really

entertain me is my only request of players on other teams unless playing a team I hate

and finally, a good/close game in the wild card round

sure Cincy could have pulled it out late, but they were pretty fucking awful on O and tough to watch. who has a guy like Green and fails to toss him the ball for a whole half to start the game? not sure why that HC has a job, much less Jay Gruden being on short lists to be a new HC

He's obviously going to go to a team that just fired its coach, so chances are he isn't going to have a perfect situation. If he really wants to come in and build a NFL offense in his image it's would seem like it might actually be easier on a team with early round draft picks and a roster that isn't full of older established players with a set concept of what does and does not work in the league.

I know the Skins have a shot at the division.

But if they play RG3 this week they are beyond stupid.

1. They are playing the Browns
2. He is too valuable to risk for anything, even if somehow they win the division, I don't see them going very far into the playoffs. If he winds up tearing something because of it, it would be a disaster.

He is a smart QB when it comes to reading defenses and making throws but very dumb when it comes to knowing when to go down.

If he keeps it up, he will not last.

He already had a concussion and now an injury because of dumb and poor decisions while running.

He also took a huge shot in the Giants game because he did not slide.

It's said that his injury is a mild sprain. The decision to play him will be put off as long as possible so the Browns will have to prepare for both QB's. And haven't the Browns wins all been huge upsets?

i wouldn't sleep on ANY hot team in the playoffs bc it pretty much happens all the time now in the NFL

this is exactly the case with BOTH of NYG's SBs of late, same with GB and others

if RGIII isn't that bad, start him as long as no perm damage can be done

it's that simple

and on the cleveland front, they have played a ton of teams very tough and could easily make this a game. again, it's the nfl and there are rarely easy wins these days...except the fucking raiders

so yah, another nice made fantasy piece by Kevin bc he was mad some actually defended some washington wins and RGIII not being overrated

and anyone can be injured on any play, especially on that field with its conditions. oh and the injury happened on a bad fucking snap, not running around. and finally, the guy looked shitty and banged up and worse as the game went on, so yah, I guess I automatically wanted him in and was in line with a coach I've often said gets WAY too much credit for those bronco teams...and truly one I fucking hated for a LONG time. but hey, I LOVE the move right and you were soooooo amazingly on it...WEEKS later. :wallbash:

Im impressed that Dr. Andrews was actually on the sidelines. The guy works in Alabama or somewhere and is considered the go to guy. It doesnt look good on Shanahan that he came out and said he never cleared RG3 to play. And didnt think much of him playing tonight.

Oh yeah, that was a field that someone could have shredded a knee on even if they were healthy. Which makes Shanahan's decision to keep RG3 in, especially since he was starting to limp pretty early in the game, that much harder to understand.

yah, he was fine early in both scoring drives...but the risk was up on that shit field. sure enough, he came up limp at the end of the second drive if I remember correctly and was never the same since. a good eye/coach sees that and adjusts at least, perhaps even going to Cousins immediately? tough call due to the difference bt them, but as I said before, the kid has more than mopped up in the past. yet this would encompass 3 quarters

Odd it's he same area, but still very different when one is an actual injury and the other preventative measures on a young arm.

I still think they were stupid. He wasnt even hurt when they shut him down.

I have no problem with the Skins starting RG3. Its the fucking playoffs! I just think after that 2nd touchdown, when it became apparent the guy couldnt move his leg and that leaving him in was becoming more of a detriment to the team than benching him, THATS when they shouldve pulled him.

Well see how many people think shutting down Strassburg was a good idea if they dont make the playoffs in the next 3 years or so.

you hated on RGIII to start bc you said he wasn't even good and the giants just sucked...they beat nobody and they had no shot. then it went all over the fucking map just like any WF conversation, leading now weeks later to completely something new. so kev, you now claim I think that running around and getting tackled/hit more is less dangerous? You are claiming now that I think players like Vick who run way more than needed, can't make their reads/progressions and lean on the run are less apt to get injured? What are you smoking? Seriously, you just make shit up AROUND posts made as if they were fucking said. Stop fucking talking to yourself when typing bc you're clearly confused. I just think taking a knee at the end of regulation is going to go down as one of the pussiest (is that a word?) coaching decisions ever. The Broncos had all 3 timeouts, and they really had a good shot of at least getting in position for a long FG attempt, at worst.

Uff... did they handle this kid wrong..

The recovery process for Robert Griffin III could be much more difficult than many originally believed.

There is a much greater concern for the quarterback’s knee than anyone in the Redskins organization or even Griffin himself has publicly said, according to a report by Pro Football Talk. The biggest issue, a source told the website, is the damage to Griffin’s cartilage since he has lost enough in the right knee, after tearing his ACL twice in less than four years, for doctors to wonder how much remains and how long it can hold up.

RG3, 22, could end up dealing with bone-on-bone contact, leading to chronic pain and potentially even dreaded microfracture surgery.

Griffin tore his ACL and LCL in the Redskins’ playoff loss to the Seahawks last week and had surgery this week. There was also a partial tear of the meniscus. Doctors had to take a patellar tendon graft from his good knee and put it in the bad one during the procedure.

Publicly, the Redskins and Griffin have stated that the hope is that he could be back on the field in time for the team’s season opener in September. With this new information coming to light, that could be a very optimistic timeframe.

he has easily garnered results way above my expectations every year since his return to the NFL. i was completely convinced he couldn't hack it here without some HUGE talent advantage like he had in college, much less his friend first coaching style with self absorbed NFL players. so I can't get on him much for an icing the kicker where the guy just lays into it for a practice once he hears the whistle. Hell, I thought he was nuts going with Wilson over Flynn to start the year, so much for that. He's clearly outperformed his expectations for most if you ask me right now.

However, I do think their D coordinator is pretty damn solid...so much so I hope he gets a very good look as SD's HC. I don't know enough about the guy, but what I do know is very solid.

It really was such a loser play. Your QB is Peyton Manning, you have 31 seconds AND three timeouts, and you just take a knee?!

I love this line from a column about the weekend's playoff games:

Broncos head coach John Fox came up very small on the big stage, taking a conservative approach with time to play with, both at the end of the first half and end of regulation. And then there was that run on 3rd-and-7 with just more than a minute left in the fourth quarter, when a first down would have iced the game. With Manning on your team, you don't coach like you have Jake Delhomme.

I'm not sure how much you want to read into that though. He ran an offense with a high school level complexity in the read option with a terrible QB and the results from an offensive standpoint were, well, terrible. I mean they put up good rushing numbers, but that's literally the only thing they attempted.

Make that three times, as he had Kyle Orton looking great early in that year before tebow took over.

My take on McCoy is still beinv formed, but at least he's a young, new, adaptable coach. He really played up the family approach and kissed some major spanos ass too, and i have read they ate that up...as did Telesco. That part scares me, but he is considered a very good oc and anyone not named turner right now sounds real good.

Now three weeks before national signing day with NCAA sanctions bearing down and after recommitting to Oregon he decides it's time to go because he found an organization willing to cede undeserved organizational control. It strikes me, though, that you see a difference between the organizations in the coaches the Bears and the Eagles hired. The Bears went for a much lower-profile guy, who's gonna invite lame jokes about how every team in the CFL is called the Roughriders and "Someone needs to tell him not to punt on 3rd down", but this guy's credentials are solid (and, let's face it, the NFL is headed towards being more like the CFL with all the rules to protect QB's and WR's) , so it seems like a good hire.

The Eagles got a guy who's more famous, but, as noted above, shows signs of kind of being a flake. So we'll see how that works out for them.

Personally, I dont ever want my team giving a college coach his first NFL head coaching job. Sometimes it works, but usually it doesnt. Its not even close to the same game. Look at Saban. Hes a beast in college. In the NFL he was the AFC easts bitch. I feel the same away about retreads that have never won a Super Bowl. I dont give a fuck if nobody has ever won a Super Bowl with 2 different teams, in my opinion, winning one gives you the right to another head coaching job after you lose the one youve got.

Thats why I would take a Gruden, Cowher, Jimmy Johnson over a Lovie Smith or Wade Phillips or Norv Turner any day.

I dont know anything about this CFL guy. My only question would be, if hes so talented, why is he the head coach of a CFL team instead of a coordinator in the NFL? If he officially turned down coordinator jobs to stay in the CFL as a head coach, thats fine. But its something I would wonder. Sometimes it seems like these teams are more interested in finding a hidden gem than getting the obviously qualified choice.

Jets owner Woody Johnson on the Tim Tebow signing:

The perception of the New York Jets' trade for Tim Tebow has been that it was the brainchild of owner Woody Johnson, but that's not how it was presented to at least one general manager candidate in his interview with the team.

Former Broncos GM Ted Sundquist, who interviewed for the job nine days ago, said Johnson told him it wasn't his idea. Sundquist said it was his impression that the trade was "forced" on Johnson and team president Neil Glat, who also participated in the interview.

Sundquist's description of the interview makes it sound as though Johnson was blaming former GM Mike Tannenbaum for the Tebow debacle; in a sense, Johnson did exactly that, firing Tannenbaum one day after the regular season ended.

Yeah, because what the hell can the owner of a team possibly do if someone they don't like is gonna be signed.

What a total clusterfuck of an organization.

Jets open up over 30 mil cap room with cuts. Darrelle Revis on Jets trade rumors: 'I need answers'

Doesnt this guy hold out every year? Fuck him.

Hes good. Not nearly as good as he or ryan think he is. Ive seen him get beat plenty of times. Hes no Leon Sandcastle

The Ravens and Flacco have agreed on a new contract, reportedly six years, in excess of 120 million with more than half of the money guaranteed. Flacco becomes the highest paid QB in NFL history. Ozzie Newsome rarely makes mistakes as a GM, but rarely just happened in a huge way.

way too much

yeh he has been the qb for the 5 seasons in a row that they made and won at least one playoff game and the title this past year but has his play really warranted that contract ? yeh only some is guaranteed and can be released without paying the full 120 but they kinda have no choice but to give it
