Good work by Webster

This is like the 17th time he has gotten burned for a long TD.

Rodgers & Nelson aren't so shabby.

never should have even been that close...the d there was nowhere near him until WAY too late

also to set this all up on offense, the Chargers had 1st and 10 4:29 left time to run the clock, but nope Norv dials up 3 straight pass plays that take less than 1 minute. Mind boggling!

like the saints, the pack simply can't or won't ever dedicate some effort into developing a stabilizing ground game

it makes them so one dimensional, and that's the biggest difference in the Pat's game this year at least. they have more balance. here you can just dial up blitz after blitz and expect the pass almost all fucking day...sure the last few weeks GB has at least made an effort, but they aren't even close with Green/Khun and Starks mainly due to that OL.

The rule for defensive pass interference is a simple as it gets. It only applies from the time the ball is thrown until the time it is touched. Changing the definition would only lead to another expansion of the rules.

It was Jovan Belcher, a linebacker for the team.

He did it right in front of head coach Romeo Crennel and GM Scott Pioli too.

There's just no fucking way that the NFL can make the Chiefs play tomorrow. If they truly want to play, fine, but forcing them to play would be the ultimate proof that the NFL doesn't give a fuck about anything but making cash.

bc you insinuate that he was suicidal and I, as well as PB, have been pointing out the suicide wasn't contemplated until AFTER he killed his GF in anger

a guy/girl doesn't go right to suicidal in episodes like these

not sure how you leave someone out of it (the reason you are pissed) and just off yourself...seems quite off to me. by no means is what he did even close to right, but understanding the why/how isn't that tough and just offing yourself wasn't really ever in play as you suggest he should have done while leaving her out of it when the two of them is the it

of course we don't know the specifics to the case...yet, but it's pretty clear what the spark was to this awful fire

it seemingly works out perfect and Tebow gets to sit the bench when back hopefully once again

I'm actually rooting for McElroy, but the announcers are fucking DISGUSTING breaking down how he's NOT the guy and or a franchise guy...as if Sanchez is or hasn't been given his fucking shot!?

No. Ryan Leaf, that's a horrible QB. JaMarcus Russell, that's a horrible QB.

Phil Simms had one less INT than TDs until AFTER he won the Super Bowl in 1986. His completion percentage was 56%. By that mindset, is Phil Simms a horrible QB too?

I'm not trying to be a dick, but it seems in your mind, you're either awesome or horrible with no grey in between. Sanchez isn't horrible, but he's not awesome. No one is screaming he's a bust.

I said last season if Sanchez continued to suck this year with a new offensive coordinator, he has no one to blame but himself. I'm done with Sanchez.

Even the faults this year of Sanchez do not reflect badly on Sparano. It's been bad decisions, bad looks, bad everything.

At the time, Alex Smith had turned his career around because he was put into the "right system". So I wasn't willing to write Sanchez off. Not yet. I had said repeatedly that I needed to see Sanchez in a new system. Well, I have, and he's even worse.

Why does half the offense need to be out injured for Andy Reid be smart when calling plays? When he's had guys in the game like Jeff Garcia, AJ Feeley, Koy Detmer and Nick Foles in the game he actually commits to the run and doesn't fuck around with stupid gimmick plays. When he has the starters in the game its like a fucking circus out there.

Who made those play action fakes? Who has a VERY good fake that causes opposing players to fall as you say or open up huge holes for the running game or leaving wide open targets in the passing game?

Not to mention, RGIII is a rookie who just beat the defending Super Bowl champs and was able to hang great with the 2 time SB MVP. The guy made no big "rookie" type mistake and wasn't even sacked. He won back to back to back tough divisional games with grit and intelligence to get them right back into the playoff picture in terms of wild card and in the division. Let's be honest, it hasn't taken a great record to win this division of late, and even so the Giants made those divisional crowns into SB wins.

you just sound bitter at this point, as most teams put RGIII on the ground as he's been sacked 26 times in 11 games coming in...9 in his last three. as for ints, he has only 4 at this point as a rookie on a team with a rookie back and tied with Brady for the NFL's best at this point throwing to who? Also, he's tied for 2nd in the NFL for QB rating...as a fucking rookie playing for a team that was AWFUL last year, especially on offense.

give a guy his due, as I'd love to have him and his upside at this point. the guy is tied with Brady on interceptions and Manning for qb rating (MVP candidate). not sure how this is turning into another Eli blow fest at this point? Newton isn't half as smart and doesn't throw as nice a ball as RGIII either. Sure both will have their stumbles just like any qb, but right now, Griffin is playing very solid fucking football. I don't have to wait 3 years to say a guy is playing well and winning RIGHT NOW. He's doing the little things that makes Eli so much better in the playoffs and helped him win that first Super Bowl without crazy stats. What Luck is doing is far more impressive to me than anything RG3 is doing.

He's been pretty damn impressive too, but in different ways. That team is clearly much more dedicated to airing it out and has better weapons in Wayne, Avery and Hilton. All four are ahead of the top Washington wideout Moss, and keeping Garcon on the field surely would help. Yet outside of those iffy overall wideouts, the skins are quite low on talent at the position.

Also, Luck leads the NFL in interceptions with 16, 4 times that of RGIII and is 30 points lower in terms of qb rating. They have won some fantastic games and it has been impressive overall, but he's made some HUGE mistakes and lots of ints. Hell, he runs half as much as RGII and has the same amount of fumbles still at 9. So Luck has turned over the ball 25 fucking times! That's Rivers (26) level of bad at this point, and his line is putrid compared to any in the NFL and he's not even close to mobile (11 fumbles). Not to mention only one guy has been sacked more than Rivers, Rodgers, but he runs almost 5 times as much and gets hit and pressured overall much less still.

Its more for me to stay in touch with family that I have overseas's

It keeps me in the loop what they are up to and what is going on back home.

Much easier than phone calls and shit like that that is hard to do with 6hr time diff and being at work and shit.

But why would you like an update explaining that your team lost a brutal game?

spoon

Its that and the fact that he is on one of the 4 teams i can't root for.

3 div and Jets.

listen, i get that but you have to respect talent regardless of affiliation

I HATE they spanks but respect the hell out of Mariano. It just can't be ignored how good he is no matter the opportunity he's been given over others just bc of the team he's on.

I hate the other AFC West teams too, but Manning has been amazing and they have to be respected on D as well. Hell, that's what got them so far with Tebow, so their ceiling now is unreal. They already have as many wins as last season and locked up the West. The only problem is that the AFC is much harder this year to me.

New England is much better balanced and their D is now very opportunistic/ball hawking like the Saints when they won it all.

Houston is continually getting better, and with Schaub at QB is surely a different team. Their lines on both sides of the ball are outstanding and they have Foster and Johnson on O...that's fucking solid.

Baltimore is the same, up and down, never consistent probably bc they never commit to the run game and the D is so old now. However, Ray Lewis is planning on playing sooner than later (unreal) and he changes that unit immediately even if he can't move well. He scares them better.

Cincy is NOT a team that any division winner should want to see in the wild card round, even though they keep losing good players that were developing fast like rookie Sanu. They may have lost this season with awful losses in the middle of the year. And that Pitt win KILLS their chances even this early, as Pitt should NOT be hanging in that WC spot but Baltimore shit to bed against Pitt's second unit.

Indy have been pretty impressive, and a lot of this credit needs to go to their interim coach and of course Luck. Their running game is awful, so once they get something there I'll buy into them more, but in the playoffs I'm not so sure...especially with Luck on the road tossing way too many ints.

And I pretty much already covered Denver. So yah, the AFC is no joke this year.

Hahahahaha I told you theyve been saying it for weeks around here. The 3 places it seems like he could be next year is San Diego, Dallas (like Snoogans said) or....back here in Philly. :(

Personally I dont know if Lurie has the balls to bring him back to finish his contract, but it wouldnt surprise me.

Also, if he has a good GM and D coordinator, Reid will do well in Dallas or San Diego. If not? Youre in for a long season. As a coach hes very good at gameplanning, but cant adjust during the game. And he refuses to run the ball. He also doesnt value linebackers at all. Overall hes a decent coach that benefitted from playing in a pretty shitty division for a decade while having one of the smartest D coordinators ever. Once Jim Johnson died and the division got better he came right back down to Earth.

which shows even more of why it's not a good fit in SD, as they are LB centric on D and already have issues on O bc they NEVER commit to running the ball and take WAY too many shots down the field with low percentage plays in inopportune times.

sure he's an upgrade at HC over Norv, most would be, but he's still in the same mold in that he needs a TON of help on D, yet Pagano staying would do that if left to his own devices. Losing the lord of no rings would be a GREAT thing for SD too. He thinks he's above other GM's, makes HORRIBLE early round picks and usually trades way to much whenever he moves up to grab iffy talent. He outthinks himself into "sneaky" picks in order to look the genius if they hit. And some later picks do, as this is his only strength. Yet early he's a wreck usually and never gets along with his staff and of course players. Norv is here bc he tucks his tail and obeys. Marty may not have won it all here, but I assure you SD is a consistent force in the AFC West and playoff picture year in and year out with him and Butler if still with us. Too bad, but Butler really knew how to build a team here and in Buffalo and was truly loved. Pretty much the opposite of AJ.

Schiano suggested you start with the ball at your own 30 with a 4th and 15. You can either choose to punt or go for it but risk turning over the ball to the other team in great field position. Interesting, I guess but not as exciting as a kick-off.

dumb

it's an important part of the game, its history and a nice extra facet of the game that gives it depth

it isn't the answer to stop concussions by stopping the game itself

find better equipment or lack there of

it's fucking STUPID, changes the game and frankly trivializes the whole process altogether

and sure, let's listen to that idiot who has his team punch at the ball and attack on kneel downs with ZERO chance of anything after the game is fucking lost by YOU and YOUR team already. it's obvious he comes up with all these ideas clearly out of respect for the player's health and the well being sanctity of the game. a true class act in the face of losing and tough decisions. hardly the guy to give advice here. if i wanted a way to show almost no respect for the game, player and institution they are representing in times of defeat, he's your man. perhaps a spit on the hand before the midfield handshake or punch a cheerleader is in order?

Ron says a lot of stupid shit...just loud, with tons of comic analogies and yes men to agree with pretty much ANYTHING he says. I truly think he does some of it just to spark a challenge yet he never gets it. Perhaps I'm giving him too much credit and the emperor has no clothes indeed.

Nah. I love Ron but theres many times he takes the unpopular view just to see if he can make a reasonable argument for it. And he usually does a pretty good job, he just doesnt have any worthy adversaries to go back and forth with.

The whole reason for this proposal was because a guy got crippled on a kick return. But the bottom line is a person can get crippled on any NFL play throughout the entire game. So figure out how to deal with it. Either get the union to adopt a contract saying these players know the risk, and give up any right to sue the league if they become paralyzed or have concussion problems down the road, or turn the fucking game into flag football. Not to sound heartless but nobody is forcing these guys to play. Id risk post concussion syndrome in order to make millions and set myself up for life playing football. Let them try working my job for the money I get for awhile and see how they like it.

Holy shit, another weekend, another NFL player killing someone:

Dallas Cowboys practice-squad linebacker Jerry Brown was killed in a one-car accident Saturday and teammate Josh Brent was charged with intoxication manslaughter.
Irving police spokesman John Argumaniz said the accident happened about 2:20 a.m. Saturday in the Dallas suburb. Brent was speeding when the vehicle hit a curb and flipped at least once, Argumaniz said.
Argumaniz says the 25-year-old Brown was found unresponsive at the scene and pronounced dead at a hospital.
The police spokesman said officers conducted a field sobriety test on Brent and arrested him. The charge was upgraded after Brown was pronounced dead.

make enough money to hire a cab? Knox, the NFL has a 24 hour program to pick up and take home ANY NFL player at ANY TIME if they can't drive home themselves for issues just like these. So it's even worse than you think. It's plain ignorance or worse.

it's probably part of the problem that they get away with shit all the time...speeding, being a little too sauced and more. so in the end, they never think they can't do what they want or actually fear the law bc they are usually above it, until it goes way too far like this case.

Sean Payton can't be this good of a HC.

How are the Saints this terrible?

I'm sure that whole mess around Payton didn't help, but I can't see them being much better with him.

sometimes I wonder what th fuck Eli sees sometimes

he had Bennett open underneath and most likely a first and he throws to Cruz in double coverage

Brees is gunna turn 34 and has a ton of throws on him.

It can just be that its catching up to him.

Their D was always terrible.

Just found out that RG3 got helped off the field with a knee injury.

If its serious that is an awful blow for the Skins.

Too bad for RG3 but serves that little hobbit right for talking shit after the game.

wow, first is serves him right for talking some shit!? and now 6'2"/225 lbs equals "little hobbit"?!

and watching kev blame, love, blame, love everything giants in a 4 hour game period is EXHAUSTING
