SD on D however only allowed 279 yards on the road to a team on fire...12 first downs total and 79 yards on the ground to a guy/team that put up almost 300 last week on the ground alone

the problem here is execution overall, as SD finds ways to beat themselves and that's coaching

If the team that is losing stops trying to score, I could see an argument that the team winning big should stop trying.

Well I'm pretty sure nobody said to play stupid and just plain awful to close out a game.

Overall, you know when a game is clearly in hand and it's just a prof courtesy and respect to change it up a little to keep it civil in many ways. If you do so, guys aren't just gunning to crush and take out your stars which could hurt more than the loss in question being laid on them. I've been on both sides of this in hockey, baseball and football. When someone wants to step on a team having a bad game or bad year already up a ton, it gets ugly and I don't blame people.

Get your next level of players in there, try ball control and killing the clock and realize the game is won. In baseball you have to bat and keep your average in check, but bunting over a runner and shit like that up 8 in the 8th warrants a chin high wild fastball in my mind. Just as cherry picking assholes in hockey up 6 goals with a goalie off deserves getting fucking hit even without the puck. If a team was up 40 on my team with a quarter to play was going no huddle and tossing it all over, I'd just crush every star player on every fucking play bc they clearly don't have respect for your team on a prof level, so why should you for theirs.
