I have Comcast and besides it being a bastard company I've never had a problem with their cable. Their internet pisses me off sometimes, but whatever.

I only ever watched Comedy Central. I couldn't care less to see the others return. Viacom wants more money for channels no one even watches and they won't let Directv carry just one or two channels, they have to take them all. Not really mad at Directv here because I don't want my rates hiked up just so they can carry channels like MTV and VH1.

However I wish they'd bring G4 which is owned by NBC Universal. They dropped them because of poor ratings but they don't offer any other channel like it.

They've been giving away free "NFL Sunday Ticket" to pissed off subscribers to compensate for the lack of viacom channels.

I knew I should have called yesterday.

Last night DirecTV ran an ad, and at the end, I swore I heard the announcer say, "NFL Sunday Ticket now FREE to all subscribers".

So, I hit rewind, and watched / listened again thinking that surely this offer was for "NEW" subscibers... but that's not what he said. I watched / listened two more times just to make sure.

So I go to bed thinking that maybe since the viacomm fiasco, and the reported loss of many subscribers, they were just going to say "To hell with it. Give them ALL the NFL Sunday Ticket for FREE".

Today I check out their site to see if it's confirmed. Nope. $199 for the season.

After a quick google search I find that this is basically done intentionally to decieve, and it isn't the first time.

They did the same thing last year, and got sued. Guess they either don't care, or it's worth getting sued to deceive more people into unexpected charges.

They made a big deal about lowering their price for the NFL ticket, but now they offer a "MAX" package for another $100 to get the Red Zone, etc.

I wish to fuck they would offer cable in my area so I'd have some leverage against this shit. As long as Dish Network is my only other option, I'm stuck with these assholes, and I'm pretty sure their customer service reps are looking at my zip code and realizing the same thing.

we got DirecTv last year early in football season, so we had both for free. It was nice getting to see more than 3 Bengals games a season, not nice enough to make me come off that much money.
