If there was no Hulk Hogan, the WWF you kids enjoy today would not exist. Hulk made it what it is today, along with Vince's business saavy. Trust me, I was a fan of the old WWWF, and the change was incredible. Hulk was and still is a crappy wrestler, but his star power made wrestling popular again. It was on life support in the 70's. Hulkamania lives!

You definitely can not discount what Hogan has done for the sport in relation to worldwide popularity and viewship.
No one ever said Hulk was a great wrestler but his prescence alone was worth the price of admission. But back in the day as lil Hulkamania I would say to my friends nothing can beat the body slam and the leg drop. Man I was a moron and wait I still am. I'll definitely be marking out when Hogan arrives. That my friends is a given! Pull out the yellow and red and hit "Real American."
"I am a Real Americannnn...
Fighting for the rights of every man..."

vince keeps saying that hogan is poison, but we know the truth. He made the wwf a juggernaught, then he went to wcw and made it interesting.
as long as he doesn't wrestle, he's great.

Hey brother, dont forget to train, say your prayers and eat your vitamins... God that is so lame, yet so good. At least to attract kids and there parents, fortunatly (or unfortunatly) the WWF has moved on from that. Now Hogan is reentering with the NWO. The only question is how long will he stay bad before we hear "I am the real American" again...

i'll admit that hogan has probably done more for wrestling than any other wrestler, but it was mcmahon behind it. if he didn't chose hogan to be his poster boy, he would have found another person just as good. he has a knack for finding people (rock, angle, undertaker, etc.) and seeing that inside they can be champions. i think hogan gets too much credit because mcmahon really could have used someone else and we would all be talking about another wrestler right now. it's cool he's back i guess and i don't take away from what he's done, i just think mcmahon is more responible for wrestling today than anyone. except for maybe jericho, he's bringing it all to another level.
thanks to WWFallon

For as much as Hogan did for the WWF don't forget to credit to Andre the Giant.. the gentle man from france was the reason why Hogan was able to be such hero.. Andre was the man....

I was at the famous MTV "Rock and Wresling" Special, when Piper attacked Cyndi Lauper, Dick Clark, Bob Costas and Dave Wolf, Cyndi's ex manager and husband who was "viciously" pile driven.
Oh yeah, it was called "The War to Settle The Score", I still have it on tape. This led to the Saturday night NBC shows, national and worldwide coverage, and boom, Vince breaks out big time. Also, Hogan appeared in "Rocky III", which helped. All hail the Hulkster! LOL

This is true to an extent. But that is like saying that any actor could have of taken over certain oscar winning roles and made it work. When in fact sometimes that just isnt true...True the director and producer play huge parts (this case being McMahon), but it is really the actors charisma, personality, etc that makes the role work. Hogan was perfect for role, as the Rock,HHH, and Stone Cold are now...

I pretty much agree with everything that is being said. Without Hogan, wrestling would not be where it is today. I give him all the credit in the world for being able to revolutionize an industry the way he did. However, I think there comes a time in every man's career when you have to hang up the boots. I think it was Hogan's time to 5 years ago, he has overwelcomed his stay in wrestling.

I disagree. I'm not taking away from Hogan's accomplishments, because he was truly one of the first mega-icons in pro wrestling.
But with Hogan, I think it was more about being the right person, in the right place, at the right time. The stage was set for someone like Hogan to come along, and he filled the spot nicely.

I couldn't disagree more...
Hogan has done so much for this brand of entertainment that he should be in it forever... but he should learn to take the backseat like Flair has... we'll see how he handles not being the Biggest Icon In Wrestling this time around... cause he still is the biggest name ever to wrestle in a ring.... he just needs to acknowledge the other talent.

In mmy opinion Hogan will never take a backseat because his ego is way too large. Therefore, because he is unwilling to do that for the business, I feel he has overstayed his welcome and should have left the industry years ago. He helped kill one company, I don't want to see him literally kill another.

Hogan's back in the WWF for what I hope is the only reason, to end a legendary career at the place where he was most famous.
I bet after he's finished with the NWO angle, he be back in the red and yellow. And retire in the WWF.
