Watch a Disney production originally spearheaded by the mighty Roger Allers (right off of Lion King fame) with a soundtrack by Sting and the voice talents of Eartha Kitt, David Spade, and John Goodman crumble into the wasted opportunity comedy The Emperor's New Groove.

The documentary Sweatbox was filmed by Sting's wife Trudie Styler and never got an official release on a DVD extra presumably because of the horrible light the studio executives were portrayed in. The movie follows the exceptionally troubled production of Kingdom of the Sun, which was later renamed to The Emperor's New Groove.

those writers were so heartbroken that everything they had put out there was trashed. they worked for months. Sting was really disappointed. he slaved over 6 songs with the old storyline and then in one meeting, they changed the tone of the film and those songs now didnt fit in the process. so fucked up.

he was saying that the head space and time he had given for this project had passed and he now his head was in making his next album. he also wrote a note to disney saying that they should really rethink what they are doing to this project. that they were really messing up something that would have been quality and turning into some generic stuff. hell, you can even see it in the name change of the film, from "kingdom of the sun" to "emperor's new groove". sting was hoping to even get fired over the note if he was "lucky"

sting said that "there is something instrinsically faulty with this film" thats what he wrote in the letter to michael eisner et al.
