So, I need to find an apartment for myself, the problem is my chick did all the work the last two times we moved, so I don't really know how to do it well. The sites I've gone to have been no help, specifically in finding places in my price range (which is low). Do you guys have any sites, suggestions, strategies that can help me? Thanks buddays.

Zillow will list rentals close to you. Honestly the best thing to do is drive around in the neighborhood you kindof want to live and look for signs, or maybe call a realitor. I found my house by accident just driving by it to go look at something else.

Yep - great idea. Do you know the are you want to live in?
Major towns usually have some sort of rental service you might call and check the papers too.

if all else fails take on a nympho chick (i cant believe I have to type chick but too many gay quotes will come if not) as a roomate and share the rent and share the sex. Truth is it only works for a little while then jealousy creeps in.... been there - done that.

What's your price range? Is Arlington, VA northern VA? If it's in your price range, check out archstone apartments. They usually only need you to cough up 1st month rent, no security or last or anything. And they're awesome (I'm moving to my 5th straight archstone complex this week).

if you can do the commute, consider Loudoun County. that price range will get u a good 1br 1ba place there.

I haven't done this in a while but back in the day, the Washington Post had some good listings. You may also want to check Roll Call (Capitol Hill's website). A lot of Hill Staffers come and go and the price ranges are usually pretty good since they make little money. Also, check the local universities (Georgetown, George Washington, American) for off-campus housing listings.

PM me if you have any questions about locations, etc.

RMHL wants you to stop talking about moving, and Crispy has some extra boxes.

Did you move yet? If not, your income bracket in Loudoun County will qualify you for income restricted communities, which if you check out ashburn, are pretty nice places. I live right off 28/7/algonkian, but my rent is $1300 a month for a 1 bedroom :( If you check out craigslist, there are a lot of people that rent out their basements or in-law houses for about $900-$1000, and normally include utilities. PM if you need help.
