Jet Skiing

Yeah, for those of us in the northern part of the country this may seem like a stupid thing to post in January, but I'm sick of this fucking weather already.

We spend time on the Jersey shore in the summer and my kids are begging me to get a jet ski (or jet skis - I think they'd like eleven or so).

I don't know shit about jet skis and before buying one (even a used one) I thought it might make sense to rent one - maybe for the summer since I might get a better deal.

See, I'm really an idiot about these things - I don't know where to launch them, what the rules of the water are, how to maintain them. I'm really thinking renting for a period of time is the way to go. But maybe I should just buy a used one and a trailer...

...fuck, I don't know.

Anybody have any experience with this? I don't want to sound like a fucking idgit, I'm just not sure where to begin.

I dont know much but I would bet renting one for the summer would be very expensive. You can get a good priced used one for probably what you would waste on a rental. I think you want a wave runner not a jet ski they are 2 different types of things.
