Maybe you can recoup some of your money by reselling some of your stuff. I guess that's what he meant by "Resalution"

I never make New Year's resolutions. I do have a hope for the new year. I hope I get to hear that my oldest son is alive and well. I guess I'd have to say, my resolution is to keep that hope alive. But I don't need a date on a calendar to do that. I miss and love you, Bear.

I'm gonna start fucking more hot chicks in 2012 - Im tired of all the ugly ones.
Gotta lose a lot of lbs, work on my projects at home (lived in the house for 10 months and havent even put together the spare bedroom), find a better job, eat a few more salads and not stay up so late (thanks Tim McGraw).

To cut back on the smoking alot (already started, havent had one in 9 days) and to get back in the gym and drop some weight. Its not some health concious type decision, its just that between the added weight and the constant congestion from smoking my sleep apnea has gotten really bad. Im tired of sleeping 7 hours and waking up exhausted every day.

As much as I've tried to ignore health problems, I've decided it's time to address some next year.

I honestly can't remember the last complete "physical" I had. It was probably the last one required by the state to play football in HS.

Every chick I've ever slept with has told me that I have sleep apnea, but this year it came to a head. I fucked up and fell asleep after Thanksgiving dinner, and my chick took the opportunity to show all the women how I snore and stop breathing. So now she's got my Mother concerned, and I can't have that.

The problem is, I already know about the fucking mask and air pump and shit, and I just can't see doing it every night. I'd rather deal with the lack of restful sleep, but now I've got a gaggle of women sending be info on other problems it creates and shit, so I'm kinda stuck.

I also had a malignant melanoma removed a year or so ago, so now they're on my ass to see a dermo doc on a regular basis.

I also had an MRI that showed a bulging disc between L5 and S1. So far I've just been treating it with muscle relaxers and anti-inflamitories, but the ortho doc keeps pushing for surgery. Again, I think I'd rather just continue to treat it as needed, but we'll see.

And my arms are just about too short to read anything anymore, so I guess it's time to get the eyes checked. I haven't worn glasses since I was 10. I didn't want to wear a fucking strap around my head while playing sports, so I just stopped wearing them, and learned to overcome. It didn't seem to affect my batting average, so I never wore them again.

The big recent thing has been dizzy spells. I took the first step already and saw an E.N.T. this week. I go back in January to have some tests done. I'm taking some kinda anti-viral thing, I guess to rule that part out until they had an opening for the testing. Shit's gonna take 2 hours, and they said I have to have someone there to drive me home afterwards, so I have no idea what this is going to involve.

I'd been reading a lot about sports related concussions and the after affects, and then this month, I get my SI with an article interviewing the whole '86 Bengals team and some of the shit they're dealing with now. It started to make me think about how many times I "got my bell rung" in football, and completely knocked the fuck out a few times. The dizzy spells and headaches just aren't going away, and I almost ate it coming up off the couch one morning, so I decided to finally get it checked out. I keep hoping it's just some inner ear shit, because it seems to be associated with head movement and position. Every night lying down there's about 30 seconds where the room spins a bit.

Shit, maybe this should have been posted in the "I knew I was getting old" thread.

Dude the apnea mask is a pain in the balls. I turn alot in my sleep and I just cant use it. A few years back I dropped 15-30 pounds and me restful sleep went up a bunch. I felt like a million bucks. I really think if I could get back to that weight Id be fine and wouldnt need the stupid mask.

My wife keeps pushing for me to get my apnea checked out as well. I constantly unintentionally fall asleep.

Yeah, I'm probably about 25 - 30 lbs over my "playing weight".

Bad thing is, I hit this weight in college, so I've been like this ever since I started sleeping with (not fucking) women, so I don't know if it was happening before the weight gain, or if it's always been like this.

I might go get a mask and try it, but I can't see doing it every night, and I can't see going to a "sleep clinic" or any crazy shit like that. I'm hoping some doctor will just take my word for it and do what he has to do.

Nah, it's the lack of good sleep from the apnea. I struggle to stay awake in the early evening like I'm a 90 year old guy.

I like to imagine he's stuck on a raft in the middle of the atlantic and instead of using the limited power is generator has to call for rescue, he goes on this board.

If this is were the case I would have a new hero.

You also should resolve to get rid of the fucking paneling.

My resolutions are to close soon on the house we are in the middle of buying and selling our current house by Summer. And I need to get rid of the 40 pounds of sympathy weight* that I put on during my wife's pregnancy. My dad died young from heart problems and I don't need to be tempting the ole reaper.

*Well I tell everyone that it is sympathy weight. It wast just me using it as an excuse to ditch the gym and feed my gluttonous mouth while watching shitty TV all evening.

I wasn't taking a shot at you. I just wondered what happened to that guy. You'll get it if you really want to. For me, it's just a question of what do I hate more: being fat or being hungry. You pick one to get rid of the other.
