Kids do say the darndest things

So yesterday I'm sitting here with my 3 year old Granddaughter (yes, when I was 45 my dumbfuck son knocked up 2 chicks in 2 states, I ain't old, but I am somebody's grand dad) She was watching Little Bill, and I was fighting the urge to blow my brains out. At some point Little Bill started eating an apple, for no good reason at all she looks at me and says "monkeys eat bananas". I know this child at 3 is not racist, I'm sure it was more of a statement on the shitty art work on this show, but I had a nice belly laugh just the same. Since Little Bill is a Cosby thing, and he does the Kids Say show now, I wonder if.....nah, probably not.

Naw, but seriously - when my son was four or five-ish he did this thing where he would take words and change the first letter for some reason. Like he would say train - prain - mrain - krain - frain etc. etc for example. Kids are fucking retarded. But to him this was the funniest fucking shit EVER.

Anyway, one day we're at the supermarket and he's sitting in the shopping cart and I'm getting coldcuts at the deli counter. I was wearing a t-shirt that I got when we went to Disney World which had all of the Winnie the Pooh characters on it. Out of fucking no where he picks the one fucking character he shouldn't have picked. He points to Tigger and he goes "Daddy, look Nigger!"

Sure enough there was a black woman working behind the counter slicing someone else's meat. She looks up from the slicer and does the slow turn of the head. Now, I know I could have given my half-assed explanation which she may or may not have bought but I decided to just cut my losses and pretended like nothing happened. I took my ham and left. We didn't shop at that Pathmark for months after that.

I told my son never to play that fucking game where he changes the letters of words again. He must of thought I was a major buzzkill - but fuck him and his racist rantings.
