I have to do some training documentation for work and instead of doing the old fashioned Word/PowerPoint decks I wanted to record the processes.

I've seen a handful of free dowload ones but I'm not sure they allow for voice recording along with the desktop activity.

Any suggestions for a free application that'll allow me to do this ?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

If this is about breaking into your neighbor's computer so that you can turn on her webcam and watch her poop, can't help you there.

But if your'e on Windows, there's this:

On a Mac, I'd just record the screen with QuickTime X, then throw another audio track on top of the video in iMovie.

Totally legit intentions.

Thanks for the help. I'll check out the link.

Check out Microsoft Expression Encoder. You can specify your microphone as the input while you're recording the video.
