i'd give 39 years cause if i get that thing and the mets haven't won the world series by 2050 i'm pretty sure i'd just kill myself.

I'd guess such a book would allow you to live very comfortably. I really don't think you could become fabulously wealthy with it. There are only so many places you can go to make lots of money gambling, and how many hits will those places take before they stop taking your bets? You'd have to put up this elaborate facade of being a big time professional gambler and maintain some good, yet believable win-loss record, and grow your wad over time.



That considered, I'd still give up a good 15 years or so.

That sounds about right. I figure with luck and modern medicine Id still have at least 30 good years left if I gave up 15. Id make sure I squeezed every last nickel I could out of that book. I think the key would be to take the odds bets and lay big money on longshots here and there, instead of trying to bet big every week. Whats that horse bet where you can win millions in one day? The Pick 6? Yea Id definitely make sure I hit that.
