I can't believe I am saying this but I think the WWE has done a great job with Mark Henry. I hope they let him have a very long title reign.

I'm sure Orton will get the title back at Hell in a Cell just because WWE will feel it's been too long since he's last had it.

From 411mania.....
[Jerry Lawler was injured last night when Mark Henry put him through the table with the World's Strongest Slam. The table didn't break away as expected, and Lawler was feeling extreme pain in his lower back. He was taken to a local hospital and checked for kidney and lower back damage.
- Mark Henry was said to be very upset over Jerry Lawler getting hurt last night when the table didn't break away properly. At this time, Lawler is expected to miss next week's Raw.
I actually ranted to my wife last night during the show about how beating up on Lawler doesn't make Henry look any stronger. He's too old for those bumps.

They always feel it is an easy way for a heel to get cheap heat to fight with Lawler or Ross. Funny Henery started off his career feuding with Lawler for a cheap pop becuase Lawler was a heal then

Alvarez reported that the only reason they did it was in response?/parody?/homage? to the Mayweather incident.

Theyve really rebuilt his character into a legit monster. But i agree, orton will prob get it back. They owe him a long reign to make up for the blackface inpersonation DX did of him during the nation of domination days

Oh I wished for that too!!! But if Mark Henry did, he would've gotten a huge pop instead of cheap heat. Oh well.

As a dumb question, Henry right now is one of the longest tenured guys in the WWE, right? He's been there since at least 97 with no release. I know he originally signed a long-ass contract, but still, that's impressive. I guess the WWE likes a guy who doesn't do drugs, and just shuts up and does his job.
Edit: Never mind, I read his wiki and it turns out he took a three year break

With some of the stories I've read I think he has a job because WWE doesn't wanna get sued, not because anyone likes him.

Unless it's total overt racist shit, what "stories" are there? Mark isn;t the first and not the last black wrestler there, and any lawsuit against the WWE never works out.

The only story I've ever seen about Mark Henry is that Michael Hayes drop the n-bomb while talking to him and got in some trouble for it.

I remember seeing the dirtsheets losing their minds when Henry signed... but just because he signed a LONG contract didn't mean it was a RICH contract. Maybe Henry was just happy he was getting a steady paycheck now the olympics were over.

u know im sure he moves his hands before they hit but it looks like when he lands his hands are underneath the guy
that'd have to fucking hurt no matter who hes slamming

If Mark Henry has any chance at being a "main eventer", it's now. And for his sake, I hope he holds onto the title for a long stretch. Maybe even another win over another top star might help him as well. But we'll see I guess.

I looked for that when it happened and at the last second he takes his hands out so his palms are against the mat.
But the ease with which he picked up Khali was great, you know a guy like that isn't going to give him any help whatsoever.

The fact that they've built him up as a guy who isn't afraid of anyone and willing to destroy whoever is in front of him is great, but his run will never be long enough because they'll need to show that Orton can actually beat him.
They should probably build him up for the rest of the years as the monster champion and then have a guy like Daniel Bryan beat him to transition into the main event scene, not just another meaningless Orton title run.

I've always liked the angle of "the one guy you can't beat" Mark Henry should be that too Orton.
At this point Orton = Cena. There reigns mean less and less as their numbers grow

Still the champ
He retained the strap last night beating Orton with the Worlds strongest slam.

i know its necessary sometimes but i just hate transitional champions
so i hope he gets to hold onto it for awhile and im glad he successfully defended
woulda been stupid if he was running through roster only to lose to orton
