The NEW Hawaii 5-0

So the second season premiere was tonight. I think this show just tries to go more over the top every show.

Here's just one nitpick I have for tonight's show:

They find the Deus Ex Machina of a hidden camera that's remained powered and recording for YEARS. It clears Steve McGarrett!

Great. The new Governor allows Five-0 to reform. Yay. With one exception: Kono is still under investigation, so she is not active. He EXPRESSLY says this.

CUT TO: Chase Scene. Where a suspended Kono is wearing a vest and is armed. So McGarrett, first thing he does is allow Kono to be on a chase with them.

Then the following sequence happens:

Kono literally stalks someone she suspects of being a bad guy who is carrying a briefcase but she has no idea what he is doing. She KNOWS this guy is making a deal with Wo Fat, but doesn't know what his deal is. She has no evidence of any illegality happening, outside of Wo Fat dumping her laptop overboard.

The bad guy sees someone approaching him who is armed. But she is not in uniform, and has nothing to identify herself as a cop. So he pulls his piece (as Kono is approaching him, his weapon is concealed) and fires in self defense.

Kono gets cover - and this is key - NEVER IDENTIFIES HERSELF. Just returns fire and kills the guy.

THAT IS NOT A JUSTIFIED SHOOTING.

And then of course, for no reason whatsoever, Alex Mack is in cahoots with Wo Fat.

I hadn't watched the show since last year's McGarrett gone commando in a commercial break fiasco in the jungle episode, but I tuned into the season premiere.

Good to see it's still over the top, but funny enough that I can let it slide. The escape from prison? Ridiculous.

Plus John Locke is back on the island, so I'll at least stick around to see his arc play out.

A knocked out Navy Seal was being pushed out of a plane. He falls. Plummeting to the earth. Out of nowhere, McGarrett swoops in, grabs him, and saves the day.

McGarrett was not on the plane that the Navy Seal fell from. No other plane was shown... or even mentioned after the fact. No plane was shown landing, no one of McGarrets' team even mentions it.

So apparently, he can fly.


This show is so ridiculous it should be on SyFy.

Spike put a bomb collar on Chin Ho and demanded ransom. The now-dead Governor didn't want to negotiate with him. So 5-0 stole money from an evidence locker, but the money was replaced mysteriously, and then there was a discrepency that pointed to Kono.


It is so...fucking...obvious she is working undercover for IA.

I think there was a shot that showed a separate plane from the SEAL plane after McGarret flew in.

Never mind the ridiculousness that a SEAL who is on active duty would have to:

1) Hire a private plane to do a jump
2) Jump alone.

I don't mind what happened because they did it for drama, but what DOES piss me off is that CBS showed that happening IN THE FUCKING PROMO so there was no drama or buildup to what happened.

I agree its becoming a disaster. I originally watched it thinking their would be hot girls in bikinis and Scottie Caan is one of my favorite B list actors. This season has been too over the top unrealistic and no bikinis and Scottie Caan seems to be almost written out of the show. I might be done after this Monday night if it doesnt get any better!

What I don't understand is how the entire 5-0 team would get access to a fucking SEAL team situation room when they took out the Mexican drug lord, why would they even do that or care? It wasn't in Hawaii, the only person who should have clearance to that room is McGarrett and maybe the chick from DHS.

Steve and Danny go to his apartment: Find one picture of vic and his mother. He's wearing the same shirt as the driver's license pic.

EDIT: And of course they send the new girl in and big reveal: Mom has ALZ. Like a nurse or someone she would check in with wouldn't tell her first.
