"25 years before Deus Ex. Nanotechnological augmentations have yet to be developed and biomechanical augmentations are the current state of the art. The main protagonist, Adam Jensen, is a private security officer with Sarif Industries, a leading company that specializes in human augmentations. After he witnesses a chilling attack on his company which leaves him horrifically injured and forced to undergo augmentation to survive, "the conspiracy begins.""

As a fan of the previous versions of this fps-rpg hybrid, I hope it turns out better than other fps that have came out this year.

Just picked this game up off Steam.. Damn solid game, and one of the first games I've picked up in ages that isn't some shitty terribly performing console port. DX11 and Tessellation.. Yes plz! :) Runs smooth as shit even at 5760x1080. Fun game..

I like it, I think the navigation around the cities kindof blows though and I hate when a game hints that there is content to be found out there. Like, I'm trying to play the game, and I know you're proud of the world you've made, but I'm only barely going to hunt for quests and shit so they better not be too hidden.

The one criticism I've heard a few times that I agree with is that so much of the game encourages stealth and hacking, then you get thrown into boss battles which are the exact opposite of everything you've been cultivating during the other game play.

One thing I've come to find out now that I've played it a bit. The AI is incredibly stupid and easy to trick. Get spotted escalate things to ''alarmed?". No problem, just run a room or two away and take cover. The idiots never follow you further than one room away usually. Camp out for a few minutes until the warning levels goes away and try again. I took out 6 guys this way without firing a single bullet. Kinda shitty.

Similarly, I saw a video where you were able to just stack up boxes and vending machines in front of a door that you wanted to pick, and the guards would walk right past, oblivious to the ruse.

Yeah, I've done similar. The reviews I read before buying really made it sound more open world than it really is. One phrase repeated was how you weren't guided down paths. Thing is, you are. I was leaving some club after doing a task and before I left I was forced into a cut scene of the bouncer telling me I should speak with the bartender before leaving. Low and behold speaking to the bartender opened up a side quest. So much for rewarding players for self exploration. A few other side quests opened themselves up this way. Just basically given to you.

As far as hacking goes. Hacking computers seems sort of anticlimactic. Ok sure you get the occasional passcode that you forget about as soon as you get it but other than that so far its just shitty emails and the occasional alarm/door you can control or security cams. XP is the only real draw I've found so far for hacking. Hacking is also another easy exploit. Save game right before hacking, if you fail load saved game and try again without consequence.

They should really remake the original with modern graphics. It's so hard to go back and try to play old games...their shittiness is too distracting.
