why? it's not something i'm interested in, but it is proper fermentation using yeast and hops to make beer. so what if it's a kit? it's a semi-simple starter kit to see if it's something you want to try your hand at.

Yup, I did it too. Or, I should say, my old man did it, but it was "my" collection.

The liquor stores back then would bring in all kinds of beers from around the country, and around the world, and would sell single cans.

Pops would come home just about every other day with another can or two for the collection. He'd pop a hole in the bottom so the top would be in tact, drain, rinse, then add them to the collection. I assume he drank them all, or at least tried them all.

I don't know anyone who kept theirs full. Guess it was a regional thing.

The Billy Beer can was always one of my favorites. That, and all the Iron City cans with the Steelers Championship team pictures on them. And anything with a scantily clothed lady on it got hidden in the back so Ma wouldn't see it and throw it away. It was like an early porn collection that I'd only show to my closest friends.
