Sooner or later one of these reboots will have to bomb big time before Hollywood decides to go more original.

The trailer makes the move look OK, I guess. I do like the cast and I see there is something different with Peter's parents than the first movies, but overall... It just looks like a remake. Another way too soon remake.

I don't see how this will get real exciting buzz... as of yet.

By the time it comes out it'll have been over 10 years since the first one. Still way too soon, but not quite as bad as you might think.

I'll see it because I'm a dork. No idea what to expect so far though.

it does seem too soon for a total remake. why not just continue the from the last version? Why do they have to rewrite the way he was bite, why he was living with his aunt and uncle, how he becomes involved with the newspaper, how he discovers his powers...?

I never read the comics but Im even confused with the entire story now. We get it, he was bit by a spider and discovers powers. How many times do we need to be told this part of the story and how many different ways? They are doing this with Superman again. Wont that be out next summer too?

I don't know why they have to revisit origin stories either. But Spider-Man 3 and (supposedly, I haven't seen it) Superman Returns sucked balls. I guess they don't think people are smart enough to pick up that a new movie wouldn't have any connection to the previous ones unless they totally start over.

I was a big fan of the comics. The original trilogy was based off of the origal The Amazing Spider-Man comics from the 60s on up. This one is based off a newer series that started a little while back called Ultimate Spider-Man. They took the basics of the Spider-Man story and started over in this day and age. Thats why its a reboot. Where in the first series Uncle Ben and Aunt May were 2 old fogies, in this one they are older hippies. Shit like that. Not to mention they fucked up the original by changing storylines and cramming too much shit into one (Not having Green Goblin kill Gwen Stacy, never using the Lizard / Curt Connors story, having Dr. Octopus die, killing Venom, creating a whole new villain with Harry Osbourns snowboarding guy etc.)

Im not sold but Ill go see it for the same reason the whole country will go see it. Its Spider-Man. It doesnt matter if its a reboot or what, just the fact that its a Spider-Man movie will guarantee it at least $250 mill.

This teaser looks to me like they setting this up to be some kind of darker epic, which with Spider-Man you really can do. Hes got that many great villians and great storylines you could make it like a 5 part series. Im hoping it builds to a movie where you have him fighting the sinister 6. That would be truly awesome.

Spider-Man 3 and Superman Returns did suck balls. They tried to make it a sequel to Superman 2....while acting like Superman 3 and 4 never existed. That alone was dumb. But then they never fully explained that in the movie either...which was dumber. Add that to no real super villain for him to fight and becoming Superdaddy and you had a real shitfest.

Heres the problem with alot of comic book movies (which by the way, the newer ones that are actually made by Marvel movie studios all seem to be avoiding). Movie people just cant stop fucking with great material. The material is right there in the comic books. Stop fucking with it and bringing in imaginary love interests and family plotlines AND ANGST that isnt there in order to try and stick with the "hollywood" formula. Just stick with the material and youll have a great fucking movie that will still make millions. They just did that to Harry Potters last movie. Took a PERFECT story, and changed the ending completely in order to follow some ridiculous hollywood formula. They fucking ruined it.

Turns out that first-person scene is almost a complete shot for shot ripoff of the game Mirror's Edge.

i will watch the movie and the spiderman itself looks better then the cartoonish computer animated of the last series but why start all over again from the beginning? Its only 10 years since they re-did it with Tobey Maguire and only 5 years since the last one. Seems too soon to completely re-do this.

If Sony doesn't keep making movies then they lose the rights to the character and Disney is just wishing that would happen so they could get it because they own Marvel now.

I saw a rumor that Spiderman might have a quick cameo in The Avengers movie and that Sony and Disney set aside their differences in an attempt to cross-promote both movies. Just a wild rumor at this point though.

Because they completely fucked up the storyline in order to cram as much shit into one movie as they could. Im liking that they are taking their time more with this series. L

Also, that trailer looks like the movie is going to be phenomenal, but I still hate the suit. If they wouldve just kept the suit from the last movie and made this, it wouldve been perfect.

Okay, I think everybody's a little confused here. See, this is what happens when we don't communicate effectively. Here, I'll try and clear everything up for everybody...
