Oh and how about an honorary beer chugging contest run by Figment and the winner has a honorary show down with an empty cup as a tribute to our lost chugging champ!?

You need AA phamplets? I can bring some.

I was talking to my bro and his fiance and asked if they wanted to play in the pool tournament at Willow's for the benefit as they were at the league over there and she said is it for a Pat something? and I said yeah Patrick Mussell. And she said that she got an invite from one of her friends from the pool hall (a Joe or Joey something) and I asked if she knew him and she said not sure as since most of her friends knew him. Did Pat play pool at Willows?

Then I told them the story of the first time I played Pat at Justice's place for poker and he was really buzzed and starting laughing to himself saying I have four of a kind and he showed it to me.....and of course I folded. That was the day I believe I met some of the people on the board.

I'll be there.

Yah rumor has it Sticky was looking really good and most likely would have won if they didn't play some bullshit you need some association card before the tourney. It would have been a nice tribute, but I guess they don't like losing to people who actually knew him and don't frequent the place. Sorry, but that's bs, but regardless at least they raised some funds for the fam. Just don't understand how they couldn't just let stick play, and I hope they at least made this clear up front. You can get beat early, but aren't allowed to win late? Soooo odd to me, especially at a charity event.

I just want to clear this up. I never lost during the tournament, but because the event was sponsored by the APA (American Poolplayers Association) and they were giving away a spot in the National Tournament to the winner, you had to be an active member (someone who pays $25 bucks a year) in order to win the entry into the 2012 Championship. I used to play in the APA about 5-6 years ago and sent an email out to one of the League Operators who confirmed my rank. Unfortunately, the workers there were put in an awkward position and took me aside to explain what was going on and how awful they felt. I completely understand their reasoning, in hindsight.

At the time, however, I was really upset because I wanted to win that tournament for Pat. It would've meant alot to me to be able to do so and it really got to me that I couldn't. I didn't cause a scene, but Arelis said that Pat would've wanted me to.

I had made it to the final 4 and would've only needed to win 2 more matches which I feel confident in saying that I had a real shot at doing. At that point, they told me that my tournament was over and gave a Brand New Pool Stick as the Highest Non-APA Player Prize. Did I mention I was beating all of these APA players using a house stick? It was pretty funny to see these guys unscrewing their fancy sticks and packing up their 'Suitcases' with the 3 different sticks that they brought with them, while I was using a crooked stick that I picked off the rack.

There were alot of touching moments that I was very happy to be a part of and we raised money which was great and I would do it all over again exactly the same.

That guy with the three stick suitcase beat me!

Sorry you couldn't play all the way. APA is a stickler for rules.

They should have let him play on and if a non apa member won they could have given the national tourney entry to the top apa finisher.
