wow that fucking sucks. I really liked that game but obviously saw tons of room for improvement. This could be a fantastic sequel, but you won't get there if you treat your people like shit. Its a real shame for an upstart dev. company that made such a huge splash with their first release.

I thought it wasn't up to Rockstar's usually high standards. It was too much of an "on-rails" game for my liking. After about an hour of play I found it tedious and not very thought inducing to get through the levels. There was really only ~4 really different cases and the rest were all just similar variations of those. I think the lack of imagination is a direct result of the the development team being unsatisfied with their jobs while working on the game. If they were being forced to work many unrewarded long hours they aren't going to go that extra mile to make it great.

exactly. while I enjoyed the game, I could definitely see why other people would not enjoy it at all or even hate it. I did have an issue with there only being really one consequence to messing up an interrogation, which was just missing out on other clues or lines of dialogue. The story continued as it would have if you had gotten everything correct. I expected it to be more impactful to the story line, much like Heavy Rain. It wasn't that and it should have been and these complaints about management are probably why this won't be considered one of the top 20 games of the year.

How was Heavy Rain?
I didn't play it myself, but i read a lot about how everything you do effects the story line. you could start as one character and make through to the end or you could make the wrong decisions, wind up dying and the story would shift to another character. Every choice in that game had an effect on the overall arch of the story.

How was Heavy Rain?
It was cool but I found it kinda boring because you didnt really have control over the character at all times - just had to click where you walked, doing certain timing button pushes etc...

I'm in a lull until Sept/Oct when Gears 3, Rage, and Batman Arkham City drop.
battlefield 3, Elder Scrolls 5, Assassins Creed Revelations is Nov/Dec. Modern Warfare 3 as well.
Honestly, I think its been the greatest year for video games since 2007, and probably trumps that.

I can't wait for Assassins Creed, and MW3 ill buy cuz I like ruining campers lives. Modern Campgrounds. But L.A Noire had a really good story and all but I do wish the story was impacted by your decisions. Why were they so so hard on the staff for this game anyway?

I like the game, I'm still playing it the problem I have with it is I can only play for an hour or two at a time then the game gets real repetitive.
