I go with Corona and Heineken. I'll take Heineken over Corona if I have to (which I did at a New Years Eve party a few years back) but I never find myself ever wanting to drink these beers.

I bought a girl at a bar some Stella over the weekend. She wanted it and I wanted her and in the end she was a lesbian. So, ya know, good time.

Crap beer for a crap situation. But every bar carries it, so it's available.

That they do. The bar I was at has three taps (Coors Light, Yuengling, and Budweiser). But they have Stella in a bottle and I think they also have Corona.

I mean, when it comes down to it, I'll drink pretty much whatever if it's all that's available and the situation calls for some alcohol tinged splendor. I've never had Stella but it just seems like something I wouldn't like. Who knows?

2 good choices although I'd reverse them in order of " settling ".

I'd drink Corona first and Heineken second.

I do not care for Budweiser or Miller Lite.

have to agree.

Stella is a well brewed beer imho - goes great with food for me. I usually have wine, water, or soda with dinner but a Stella sits nice as well.

Rolling Rock tends to satisfy least lately. I see it everywhere, even added it to my "build your own six pack" today but ehheh. I liken it to a Mickey's big mouth.

I know people will say it's just my imagination, but I blame it on the sale of RR to Anheuser Busch.

Oh, and I can't stand anything "Ice".

I don't think it's your imagination at all. RR seems to have changed somehow in the past few years...

so who owns RR these days? The Inbev site (listing the US as the last country in the list of countries) doesn't seem to show ownership of RR.

... and then there's the (merger) Inbev / Anheuser Busch.. but i'm pretty confident Bud has stayed exactly as it has been for years - the Chevrolet of beers. It ain't no Duvel or Chimay but it's ok.

can't get my head around the Ice thing either but I'm not a brew meister.

PapaBear

Since RR is owned by Anheuser, and Anheuser is owned by Inbev, I'd think it's just buried in there somewhere.

Coors, then Bud.

I have an affinity for RR because it was the first beer I was able to get my hands on with any regularity.

Now I won't drink anything lesser than MacCallan 10 year so my opinion on beer is essentially useless.

So fucking brilliant it was.

Basically, when RR was bought out, the entire production was moved from Latrobe brewery to a modern facility in Jersey.

Also, RR tastes skunked because it is; green and clear glass let in shitty UV rays which skunks the beer as it sits on shelves.

And Bob Impact is a fancy man. Not like us, who I like to call "Joe and Mary Six-pack."

For something made by Coors, it's not too bad. There are far better Wits out there, but they are more expensive. I get their Belgian Pale a lot. It's not an outstanding example of a BPA, but trying to find a DeKoninck in this country is ridiculous and expensive.
You're going to feel really silly when you look at this thread tomorrow, and realize you never posted this.

That used to be my thought, that it wasn't that bad, especially seeing that it is made by Coors. But I feel like it just keeps getting worse.

If I end up at a place with shit on tap at this point, I usually just order hard liquor and then move to a different bar.

I actually like some of the lesser Budweiser beers more than I do the main one.

I'd drink Busch and/or Natural Light before I drank Budweiser.

There's just something about the taste that bothers me. It's kinda " ashy ". I always invisioned somebody putting a cigarette out in it.

I will give them credit for American Ale. I'm not a big drinker of dark beers but that one's not bad.

As far as green bottles beer go I hate them all. Never had one I liked. Of all of them I guess Heiniken ( sp ?? ) Lite was the most tolerable. This is not to mean I haven't had many a Rolling Rock or Mickeys when it was the only thing there or the cheapest.

I don't find Heineken to be bitter. I've had some real bitter beers before (some micro brew) and it's what it is.

And PBRs are what they are. If they're selling them cheap at a bar I'll drink them. Being unemployed makes your tastes change a bit.

Compared to other piss lagers, heineken is bitter (about 10 more ibu). But compared to an american pale ale or some other nicely hopped ales, it's not bitter at all.

Like ridiculous ones at that. Something like cactus or some other such sillines.

By the way I don't agree with the 'gina part.

People like what they like to taste, or not taste, so if you like Coors Light, as I do, than that's a preference.

You're not manly or any more cool because you drink some microbrew that tastes like shit.

Drink whatever you want just don't assume masculinity out of it ( unless it's a wine cooler or Zima we're talking about ).

I'm very confused by this.

I get the no Bud/Miller/Coors part.
I get liking Sam Adams.
But no other American beers?

Clearly, you like darker lagers, but there are so many other good ones besides Sam.
Brooklyn Lager, Blue Point Toasted, Coney Island... surely down in Tampa you've tried Yuengling?
Cigar City makes some fantastic beers (though they're mostly ales...)
There's tons of tasty bocks, maibocks, and oktoberfests brewed throughout the year, too!

Personally, I prefer ales, but there are great American lagers to be found!
