whiskey went down wrong

I took a shot of whiskey about 30 min ago, I'm usually quite good at it having had much experience, but for no good reason I can think of it went down the wrong pipe. My chest is on fire now to the point of longing for the relief that death would bring, it's like the worst hearburn ever x 30. I do have a hiatel hernia, so I hope I haven't caughed so hard I tore something. I advise against liquor down the wrong pipe, it is unpleasant.
Has this ever happened to anyone else, can someone reassure me that this pain will end?:furious:
