Most likely from steroids. In Spiderman he looked more jacked up than when he was a wrestler

thats a shame....he got re-married very recently too and from the pics was actually looking pretty healthy. guess it all caught up with him too. the real bitch of it is that he may have survived the heart attack if he wasn't in the car.

It amazed me how many people were talking about it on FB yesterday. Goes to show just how big wrestling was at one point. Thats why it makes me laugh when people try comparing the WWEs stars today. I saw 60 year old women saying "I dont watch wrestling, but even I know who THAT is."

new article on yahoo gets it all wrong, but has some stats.

Savage died from the car accident, and could have survived the heart attack if he hadn't been driving. But these are still some startling numbers. 14 of the 51 performers from Wrestlemania 7 have since died over the past 20 years. Similarly, all of the members of both super bowl teams that year are still alive, and only 2 of the 44 boxing title holders from that year have died.

I wasn't down with putting Macho on the top ten wrestlers of all time when Fez put him at number one on his list, but Savage put over DDP completely and unconditionally in an era where none of the old shit veterans were willing to give an inch to the struggling WCW roster. Neither Hall, Nash, Hogan, or even their WWF contemporaries like Michaels, Undertaker, or Hart would do something as good for the business as Savage did putting over DDP. Page was the only WCW guy who was pushed from WCW nobody to credible star status this way. Michaels helped push Austin to the moon, and Savage pumped up DDP.

The problem with Macho is that he also did the Macho King bit, the Macho Midget bit, and his run with Gorgeous George as his valet that made him look like a total clown.

See I look like that in a different light. EVERY great wrestler eventually has some shit gimmick / angle they have to work. The thing you have to look at is what they do with it.

People criticized Dusty Rhodes for coming to the WWE, wearing polka dots and having a fat black woman as a valet, but you know what? He proved just how great a performer he was by going out there and nmaking it work. Even if you hated the gimmick, theres no denying he was over huge with it.

Thats what Macho Man did with the king gimmick. He took it from Harley Race, who also did it well and I think he lost it to Haku? Where it died. But EVERYONE remembers that gimmick and not in a laughable way. He made it work, which is the sign of a great worker.

Look at the crazy shit Kurt Angle started out doing? Silly as hell yet he pulled it off and used it to skyrocket to the top. I would never hold that against him when ranking the top wrestlers ever because thats what MADE him into a main eventer.

Some guys take that shit and make it work, some dont. The ones that dont either recover from it (HHH / Katie Vick) or it basically kills their push forever (Rikishi / Drive by).

I know a lot of you guys here love to shit on the Undertaker, and he even deserves a lot of it, but nobody outside of the ECW hardcores would even know who Mick Foley is without the Undertaker. And NOT because of the Hiac match.

It's a well documented fact that DDP was Bischoffs next door neighborhood hence his push. That guy was garbage and as over as horseshit on Ritz.

Savage was given a guaranteed contract probably didn't even giveva fuck if he put over Gene Okerlund.

That very well may be so. But then again, all the rest of them had guaranteed contracts and yet they never wanted to put anyone over. And the difference between Savage and a hogan or Nash was that even when he was in a program with a mid-talent wrestler like DDP, he mad that wrestler look GOOD. And yes that feud with Macho Man did make him look good. Its what put him over.

Foley was the guy making Taker and Rock look good. He almost always ended up counting the lights against these guys. As much as I respect Foley, they jobbed him out pretty hard.

I am not talking bad about The Undertaker, I am merely mentioning that he never was put in the spot where he has had to put anyone over like Macho did for DDP or how Foley did for just about everybody. The closest Taker comes to putting someone over is Kane, and Kane is essentially the same gimmick as him (and an ad-lib that came about because Foley couldn't get his lighter to work).

"Macho Man" Randy Savage's death attributed to heart condition

It's been a little more than a month since the death of wrestler Randy "Macho Man" Savage and we now know the cause.

In an exclusive interview with Bright House Sports Network, Savage's brother Lanny Poffo told us, Savage died from a condition known as ventricular fibrillation (VF). VF is a severely abnormal heart rhythm that can lead to fainting or heart attacks.

Poffo said, "What it means to me is, it was a beautiful way to die. It's quick, painless."

Also in the interview, Poffo called Savage's wife, Lynn a hero. Poffo said, "Randy's foot was still on the accelerator. She reached over and steered the Jeep Wrangler into a tree, saving the life of a motorcyclist and possibly a bus. You know, there's no telling what can happen when you're going the wrong way."

Savage was 58 years old when he died.
