Who nows why people can't be civil after that but as you should of know by now people are generally idiots... People can't just let shit go and move on.. i personally am not friends with any of my ex's but that is mainly cause i speak to no one from high school and only a few friends from college that try to be friends... but for some reason tension just always follows break ups....

i think it is possible to be friends with an ex, but the key thing is for both of you be over any issues with each other or the breakup. i dont think it could happen right away, just over time.

I hear that. . Personally I think it depends on the circumstances of the break up. If both people agree to be friends then it's all good. But it should never be forced if one person is unwilling. If you break up with someone and don't want to have anything to do with them they should respect that and stop whining and bitching every chance they get....Get over it and move on. Or just go away lol

i dated a guy for two years when i was in high school. i broke up with him in the middle of senior year, and at first we tried to remain friends, but it was hard (he still had feelings for me). we stayed in touch when i went away to college, and when i graduated college, we just clicked in a non-sexual way and hung out all the time. we became really good friends and still are to this day. i was even in his wedding when he got married a couple of years ago.
