'Terminator' Back With Arnold To Star: Schwarzenegger In Package Shopping Now; 'Fast Five's Justin Lin To Direct. (http://www.deadline.com/2011/04/arnold-schwarzenegger-is-back-as-terminator-fast-fives-justin-lin-to-direct/)

Well, Terminator will be back.

Terminator: Salvation was a big let down. In fact the only part of the movie I really loved is when Arnold's Terminator made that cameo. Will Christian Bale reprise the John Connor role?

I just recently rewatched the series and didn't even realize I had the Terminator 2 special edition, which had extended and deleted scenes added back into the movie and made it all the more better.

T3 still gets a bad rap, as that is a great end to the trilogy storyline.

I don't know. Let it die is my first feeling, but I'm sure it will blow stuff up good.

I want to see them go further back in time to try and stop John Connor from leading the human resistance... Like trying to kill his great great grandfather in the wild west or something. Then in the process of trying to kill his great great grandfather they accidentally kill Doc Brown back in 1885 which has catastrophic consequences for the space time continuum which results in time travel never being discovered in the first place so that the original Skynet timeline occurs and the attack takes place when it originally happened ultimately ending up in preventing hackers from hacking into the Playstation Network on April 17th, 2011 resulting in that the last seven days of brettmojo not being able to play Black Ops never actually happens.

T4 had great potential, but the absurd choice of McG as director, and completely uninspired performance by Bale made it unwatchable.

Also, the story itself wasn't very good. There wasn't even an attempt to explain why the humans weren't being destroyed by radiation, why the machines EVER stopped nuking, why the machines even needed a headquarters, etc.

Agreed on the potential.... remember the trailer? I can't remember a trailer had me psyched so much for a movie. I get that they show great parts - but the parts they showed look great. But then the movie fell apart, but it was parts of the story that were crap. Granted, the whole Terminator story isn't practical anyway as they could have just kept sending Terminators back over and over again until they killed Sarah Conner if they had time travel abilities.

T4 just came out a bit boring. The whole resistance fighter falling for a Terminator? Crap. And yes, there had to be some payoff for the machines.

I'm usually not the guy who rips movies like this apart. I'm perfectly willing to suspend disbelief and off we go...

But for some reason Terminator 4 annoyed the shit out of me:

1. OPENING SCENE - Resistance fighters go into a machine bunker. The leader tells his subordinate to hack in and see what the machines were up to. Subordinate goes over to the machines' equipment AND STARTS TYPING ON A KEYBOARD! WHY THE FUCK WOULD THE MACHINES NEED THINGS LIKE KEYBOARDS?

2. John Conner is in San Francisco - at the Supreme Machine Headquarters. This is it. The main complex for the machine race. All of their technology has been poured into this citadel. Conner's GOT to get inside. But this is the machine stronghold - it's got to be IMPOSSIBLE...then he takes the cover off a junction box and basically splices two wires together like he's installing a new door bell.

3. John Conner is dying. So the terminator says "give him my heart". And they all say "yeah, he's got a big heart, let's give it to John!" You fuck sticks never heard of organ rejection? What are the odds this douche is a match? And for Christ sakes they're saying how big his heart is for he whole fucking movie...like it's a metaphor or something. Christ on a fucking pony...

I hated T4, completely sucked

T3 is a better movie then people give credit

the only way a new T5 would work is to have Arnold not be a Terminator or have him fighting against a younger version of himself

I've got rum to drink say goodbye caroline

Terminator 1 and 2 are a perfect pair of movies to me: T1 sets up a story, and T2 adds to it, and, in the end, brings it to a neat conclusion.

It's all been shit since, and that does include that awful TV show.

It took me forever to see T4 because of how bad everybody ripped it, and I enjoyed it alot. T3 I thought sucked.

I liked T3. I think Judgment Day was one of the most sad yet beautiful scenes on film.

T3 was a good movie.
The feel is off though. The tone.... it just feels kinda made-for-tv.
But overall... it was an enjoyable movie that delivered some good moments, and it added to the lore.

Fuck T4 though.
It's the only installment that I watched only once. I hated that boring nonsensical piece of shit.

Here's how I see the franchise, 1 and 2 are brilliant, 3 and 4 are fun dumb action flicks you can enjoy on cable to pass a weekend day, and the show was flawed but really good. 5 I'm assuming is a cash grab and I have no idea how Arnold will fit into it but I'm pretty sure I'll go see it on the big screen. I really love this franchise.

Holy shit, this T4 is bad.
I've gotta be 30 - 40 mins into it, and I literally have no idea what the fuck is going on. (and I've already seen this movie once before!)
Kyle Reese is making his first appearance right now, and there is still no plot to speak of.

So far, it's not even a movie. It's just a collection of scenes.

This is how I view the series:

T1: Absolutely amazing sci-fi film. Amazing story and great performances.
T2: Good sci-fi film, really relied heavily on special effects. Good performances.
T3: Average sci-fi film, redundant. Seemed like they simply needed a good guy/bad guy to keep selling toys.
T4: Big pile of dog shit.

The only good thing about the movie was that I thought the kid that played Reese did a pretty good job. Besides that, complete shit.
