You know, I thought Varitek wearing the C was pretty stupid and pathetic, but the fact that a benched player is wearing his catching equipment, like he's ready to get into the game AT A MOMENT'S NOTICE... is pretty bad.

Tek had his fucking equipment on WHILE THE RED SOX WERE BATTING.

A.J.

It takes, at most, 2-3 minutes to get your equipment on. And the only way Tek would be going in is if Salty was injured, and it was the top of the inning.

And upon further review, Paps didn't close games until his second year with the Sox and notched his first career save in his 19th career game (so he did it in 341 career game as a closer). In his rookie year (2005), they used Foulke (15), Timlin (13) and Schilling (9) as closers.

Just found out.

Here's one of the rules to get credit for a save:

He enters the game with a lead of no more than three runs and pitches for at least one inning

Still a pretty weak save for Paps

I don't understand how bc the runner was safe and it should have been tied with runners on 2nd and 3rd bc of the throw home. Yet Encarnacion slide was stupid, which is completely up to par for him. He was safe after the original slide just before the tag. Great block, but honestly it shouldn't have worked. HATE E5 so much.

Well not a topic I WANTED to have some proof to, but they did it again and in fine fashion tonight.

4-0 into the bottom 9th, Jays lose 5-4 with a grand slam by Haffner to end it.

Francisco loaded them out without getting an out (single/double/walk) and then the proceeded to bring in Perez who got one out, gave up a single and then the bomb. They have to lead the league in this department, much less the amount of runs they allow teams to come back from. I mean 4-0 in the 9th! oof

Make that 1.

AND:

Wakefield becomes the second Red Sox pitcher in franchise history to record 2,000 strikeouts, joining Roger Clemens (2,590).

Only three other American League teams have had two pitchers reach that plateau -- the Angels (Nolan Ryan and Chuck Finley), Indians (Bob Fellar and Sam McDowell) and Twins (Walter Johnson and Bert Blyleven).

and the poor bitch is suffering from tittie cancer wow what a heartless asshole

What would that have to do with their relationship not working anymore?

Eh. You generally don't divorce a person in the middle of a cancer battle..

Just because a person has a life threatening illness doesn't automatically make them a saint. There obviously had to be personality issues before this happened.

Cancer sucks, it's a horrible disease, and it's touched my family. But I have also seen cancer patients who become self-centered, angry people who want to stir up drama as much as they possibly can.

If Lackey had kids with her, I'd kill him for this. But they don't. So he's freeing himself from the burden of a person he doesn't love anymore. I don't see the problem.

Sucks that she has cancer, and I hope she recovers, but he's not a horrible person.

I guess the old saying is true: "Somewhere there's a guy who is sick of her shit."

I wear two pink bracelets everyday for my 27 year old friend at work who had to have both breasts removed a couple weeks ago.

You don't know her either. She could be putting razorblades in snickers bars every Halloween and handing them out to the children for all you know.

Do you think she told him she had cancer and he immediately filed for divorce?

There was obviously issues in the relationship before her cancer diagnosis. So again: If he doesn't love her anymore and the marriage is broken, what obligation does he have to stay with her?

Like i said, i do not know much about the deal.

I'm just saying if he did what Newt Gingrich did, then its shitty.

He is still a fag though.

Carl Crawford wallet really slowed him down. I give him credit for manning up and talking to the media after the game though.
