I went to an antique store and purchased a Tennyson poetry book that was printed in 1891 and a Bible that was printed in 1835. I'm not sure why I have such an interest in old books, but it is what it is.

I also bought a history text book circa the 1920's (I can't be sure exactly what year it was printed) and already had a copy of Tom Sawyer from 1921.

The pathetic thing is I haven't taken Ambien in several days. So this posting was just stupid because, I guess I'm pretty dumb.

Just ignore the haters, Keithy. I like to buy old advice books--especially ones that tell you how to stay healthy. Some of the advice is hilariously bad, and is more likely to kill you. Just ask DS for some of his old health textbooks.

Thank you Miss Smurf.

I just find it kind of cool how I'm holding books that people have enjoyed/used for hundreds of years. And seeing war time stamps in the book because of the US involvement in WW1 is really cool to me.

And the old text book is just something I wanted because I'm interested in seeing how they spoke about US history in the 20's/30's.

That's awesome. I remember awhile ago looking at some antique book sellers online. They were selling really old books though, like first edition Dickens and Shakespeare. If I ever make enough money to be able to go that route, I definately will.

I once bought a Dick and Jane book at a garage sale for 50¢ and turned it around on Ebay for a quick $50. True story.

Yeah but how do you explain your missing finger at the end of your night babysitting.

The big problem with collecting anything antique or vintage is that the item is worth whatever someone will pay for it. So if you see something for sale at a certain price, and you decide you want it, there is no guarantee that's even close to the market value.
