Ok, we have all been there and we all have stories and memories.

I remember being 11-12 years old haging out at the Kamikaze slide with a couple friends watching girls lose there tops on the way down... for a 11 year old kid, seeing a girl pop up with no top is the coolest thing in the world.

I went there once, and it was "Baptist Day". Baptists from the East coast had planned a special outing, and along comes me and my group of Brooklyn hooligans, sneaking in booze and swearing up a storm. It was a surreal experience. We waited in line for the rides and they tried to "save" us. I felt so evil! LOL

WOW!!! it was girl like you that made my trips to action park so wonderful!! :)

Anyway, the ultimate ride was the Alpine slide!!!!!

Put a kid on a board with wheels on it and send them down a steep hill with no protection!!!

I can still feel the pain from my face sliding across the cement and cutting up every part of my body. I stil have a scar to this day on my leg from that ride!!!

And the best thing was that you could control the speed (barely) but trying to steer that thing was impossible, so there was always a pile up of kids where the sharper turns were!!

I remember the time that I was at the top of the hill for the Alpine Slide and my buddy went down the hill just before me...I am not sure what the timing is before they let the next person go down was...But he went down and then I went...

This is a guy that still barely uses brakes on his car to this day...

I get to the bottom of the hill to see him with his shirt ripped and his legs all scraped up...Supposedly he wiped out 3 times on the way down and still made it down before I even caught up to him...
ACTION PARK...WE DON"T EVEN BOTHER WITH LAWYERS!!!

Bah, my parents sucked...I never went to Great Adventure, Action Park or any other relatively fun place...I think they took us to Sesame Place once or twice, but that was before it was anything more than a real kiddie park.

It's not funny, my ass is on fire...

Went there once. I remember going down the ride that basically went straight down, one person at a time. All I remember is trying to look down and it was hard to breathe as you slid down. Then the big/wide slide where they gave you mats and there were a bunch of humps. Some people hit the hump too fast, shot up in the air and lost the mat altogether and came down pretty hard, then some would be going too fast and smash the cushioned wall at the bottom pretty damn hard too...
Remember alot of skinned shins and elbows...

There used to be a bus that went round trip from Willowbrook Mall to Action Park and back at the end of the day. It was like $35 round trip and admission. I took it once with a few of my buddies. Can you imagine four, 16 year old, white as can be, I mean WHITE!!!, Wayne boys (if you know what I mean, you know what I mean) on an hour long NJ Transit bus ride from Willowbrook Mall to Action Park? It was unreal. The bus trip was scarier than anything the park could throw at us.

Oh, man. Goin to "Class Action Park" was a blast. You couldn't leave the place without getting cut or bruised or scraped or something. The Alpine Slide was a damn killer.

Did anyone try the loop-the-loop waterslide they had late in the park's run? The one with the hatch they cut in the tube in case you got stuck? I've done a lot of crazy things in my life (riding Viper at Great Adventure drunk, f'rinstance -- damn that was hard on the head) but I never went down that waterslide.

The place should have been called "Class ACTION suit park".

I wouldnt have gone there if you'd pay me.

Thanks for repeating EasyRiders joke Lent.
Anyway, I went there once when I was about 12 from PA. This was when the Gladiators series was big and hence the park set up a timed obstacle course and joust area. At the joust area you would go up against the biggest mo fo's and they would literally beat the shit out of you. Roid Rage at its finest. The obstacle course was the best. I am the most competitive person in the world and this thing was timed and the top four times for the day (I think it was four) would be called later via the park speakers and they had a runoff. They had no age groups yet I was able to qualify against some of NJ's finest brothers and rat boys. Here I was in front of a huge crowd up against three other kids/adults that were at least 18 years old. They had two semifinals matches and then a final. I kicked the first dudes ass and was set to win the shit. In the final something went horribly wrong. My strategy was to run to the cargo net full speed and jump on it as high as possible landing my feet on the net itself vs. the holes. Even if the competitor was ahead of me, which never happened, you would knock him off balance. Well, I landed on the rope correctly only to have it snap under my left foot and hence half my body stayed on the net as the other went crashing towards the ground. The fall was broken before impact only due to the fact that my right leg was twisted in the net and viciously snapped below my knee. Of course this put a damper on the day and they offered us a free return visit!! That's it! My parents weren't rich so we rushed to the nearest hospital and got casted (thank god it wasn't anything more complicated then the break). Never sued and never heard from them even though they asked for our information as to contact us soon. Nothing, not even to see how it turned out. Sad thing is, it really isn't closed or fixed......the name now is Mountain Creek Water Park. Most painful thing in my life so far, with the obvious exception off dealing with the Spankees return to prominence. Yankee fans know this, it's a monopoly, not a dynasty!!! F the Spank!
