For me I think it would have to be Patrick Ewing and his cronies in a an AC casino.

I went to the Arnold Schwarzengger Fitness Weekend last year, and I saw a few famous people. Arnold (of course) Kurt Angle, Lou Ferrigno, WWF Chyna, and Don "the Dragon" Wilson. And I met and got a picture of Chuck Norris at MSG at a Martial Art EXPO

famous people don't go out in public, they have people to do things.

I met Bill Murray at the track a few summers ago. He was pretty cool. My friend was wearing a straw hat and he asked her "What the fuck is that thing on your head?". He shook our hands and walked away.

I also used to hang out with Joey Gian from Knots Landing. My uncle worked for the studio in California where they filmed the show and became friends with him. He took us out to dinner a few times and got drunk with me and my friends on my birthday. And for a few birthdays after that he would call and sing to me :) I'm sure noone knows who he is. But he was on Beverly Hills 90210 once :) I think he has some sort of singing/broadway career now.

I used to work in a store in Chelsea, across from the old Barneys. Seen oodles of people-- Suzanne Vega, Kyle McLaughlin, Uma Thurman, Ethan Hawke, Lou Reed, Laurie Anderson, (he didn't want to hang around, so he said, "Laurie, I'm going out for a smoke."), Susan Sarandon, etc. But the MOST impressive by far was Debralee Scott-- she played Hottsie Totsie on Welcome Back, Kotter!

Met lots of bands-- The Replacements, The Church, The Ramones, UB40, blah blah blah!

In a Hoboken Diner I didn't know it til I turned around but I was standing next to Chubby Checker in line to pay...He was a pretty big guy, but I didn't say hello or nothing...

I met G. Gordon Liddy at my college once (the WJFK studios, where G used to work, was only about a mile away). He's a very polite man, but remember - he can kill you like *that* with a number two pencil if he wants to.

And I've met a few wrestlers, but I kind of think Liddy takes the cake. Meeting Perry Saturn doesn't quite hold up to meeting a man who was engaged in the biggest political scandal of the past 100 years.

Hmmm let's see:

I had a conversation about actors who killed themselves by accident at a magic show in the village one Monday night with Gilbert Godfried and Penn from Penn & Teller

I hung out with some of the Philadelphia Flyers a few years back (Eric Lindros, Garth Snow, Karl Dykhuis, Chris Therien, Shawn Antoski, Phil Crow, Dan Kordic, John LeClair, Mikael Renberg, and their old coach Terry Murray)

I also used to shop for Danny Aiello's wife while I worked at Macy's, so I got to see him a few times.

I also met one of the Mets (back in 94) but I don't like them so I didn't care to remember his name lol

Oh and I met Eddie Trunk and I have hung out with Anthony form O&A a few times, do they count?

The two that stand out in my mind:

The company I work for shares their offices with does movie and tv production. In my first week or so, Danny Aiello was in the offices because of the movie Dinner Rush.

Went to a bar last year with some friends (including Dan), and Ed O'Neill was there. It was funny to see a drunken girl that was with us hit on him the whole time. I even have a pic of them together.

I have met hundreds of celebrities because I'm an autograph collector. But they can only be of people I have met in person. Movies (Jim Carrey, Tim Allen, Chris Farley) TV(Jerry Seinfeld, Cast of SNL) Music (Blues Travler, 2 dozen Country Stars) Wrestling (HHH, Rock, Mick Foley) Models (Angie Everhart)Plus almost a thousand in he adult industry(I still have you beat Windowlick) but just sticking it to people I have met by accident:

Elton John on 5th ave. as I was coming out of the Disney Store.

Ric Moranis outside of a movie theater in East Hampton.

Sat a row behind Billy Joel and Christy Brinkly at the same theater once for "The Abyss".

Alec Baldwin and Kim Bassinger at a cafe a block away from that movie theater.

My friend's father was the uper of Stephen Baker's apartment building when he was a giant ad he tok me for a ride in his Sports Car on the NJT. We were doing 145 at one point, it was cool. Plus OJ Anderson came and took us all out to dinner.

Edward Norton when he was filming that priest/rabbi movie with Ben Stiller.

Gwyneth Paltrow and half the cast of SNL at an after party for Tenacous D. Yes, I met them too. Jimmy Fallon was the coolest and most down to earth guy of the bunch.

Bernie Williams, he came shopping in the store where I work. Very nice guy, he gave me his autograph. It was the night before a playoff game. He should've been home relaxing. Did he really need a new pair of jeans?

Other athletes who've come into my store: Patrick Ewing, Keith VanHorn, Ron Harper, Mark Jackson, Harry Carson, Willie Randolph, Jason Sehorn and David Justice.

Not athletes, but Jay Z, Raekwon (from Wu-Tang) and Lauryn Hill all came into my store too on different occaisons.

I saw Kerry Kittles at a shooting range. That was kind of wierd. I let him try out one of my guns. He was a pretty friendly guy.

OASIS, the entire band was walking down 52nd st. They were in town that week to do SNL.

I've met Spike Lee, John MacEnroe, Adam Yauch, Damon Wayans and tons of other minor and major celebs at the Knicks games over the years. My Dad used to get great seats from work!

I met Lawrence Taylor at the US Open tennis tournament. He was a pretty crabby guy.

I've also met hundreds of baseball players at card shows. And probably just as many musicians before/after concerts. That doesn't really count though. You expect them to be there. They're getting paid to show up.

This is a cool thread! I enjoyed reading everyone's stories about their celebrity run-ins.

Keep 'em coming!

I met Didi Conn (Frenchie from Grease) in a K-mart n Closter NJ years ago....

July, last year...Toronto Skyedome, Yankees/Blue Jays series. First game (Friday night the 27th) our seats are directly above the Yankee bullpen. I didn't get to "meet" any of them but they were fun to watch! We're shouting out Raandy Keisler, Mike Stanton, Mariano Rivera, Ramiro Mendoza....ect. My ex drops a baseball down to Stanton to sign and hit him smack in the head!! Stanton picked up the ball, signed it, and threw it back without a word. he will NEVER live that down lol
