I know people really want the old people back on the show all the time, but I think the show is actually missing something now. And I think Ron interacts with Dave much differently than he's ever interacted with any other person on the show, short of Fez (I also think he interacts with Hicks differently, as well).

meh. I liked dave and al dukes and billy and crazy jen and all the folks that have come and gone over the years. Looking back, I can't recall anyone truly going away and then coming back. Sure folks have disappeared for a while but once they're gone they're generally gone for good. I guess I don't understand the whole bring back dave thing from that perspective. It's sort of like wishing the show would be on again at a normal time. It's just never going to happen so why even bitch about it?

I coulda pursued my boyhood dreams too but I realized very early on that there's only one charlie sheen so I took a city job when I was 20 and now that I'm retired I can think about starting a family..I admit not all people were given the opportunity dave was given to go for it but nobody hid the dollar figures that where involved from him..We have to live with our decisions, like it or lump it..I vote for new blood, a fresh face can make a world of difference..

I know what you were saying but being poor, and both his & her family overall are hardly that, isn't the reason behind it all here. It's a catalyst sure, but overall ESD wanted to get paid, Fez was less and less involved and he thought it was time to push for it based on his tenure as well. It didn't work for multiple reasons, one being your description of radio and XM overall right now. I also link a lot of it to not one person linked to the show, excluding the hosts themselves EVER really getting paid well. Add to that the fact he was there for such a short period of time, came to the show via a message board and played hard ball in all of it couldn't help. Add to this the MAIN factor in my mind, a sick child, and he had to either get said raise or look for something that pays better with better coverage. Sure he might not have made perfect choices, but who the fuck does?

Before XM I had never listened to Ron and Fez. I fell in love with the show. And in my opinion Ron is the funniest guy Ive ever heard on the radio. Thats just an opinion, I guess that means Im up his ass?

The fact he can still put on an entertaining show while using interns, producers and stupid callers as co-hosts while his sits there silently weeping day after day for whats been years now proves to me just how entertaining he is. I cant think of any other show host that could pull that off and keep me coming back. I think Dave brings a feeling of anticipation to the show that it is lacking lately.
The "what is going to happen today?" feeling just isn't there right now.
Not that Dave makes exciting radio every time he sits down at a mic, Special Delivery - perfect example,
but there is an X factor when he is in with Ron and Fez.
He adds a bit of unpredictability. A touch of madness. A trifle of pizazz. A pinch of insanity.

A long time ago, when my kids were still small, like 2 and 5, I was in the process of a job transfer. My wife and kids ended up moving to our new place in Ohio leaving me stuck in a studio apartment in SC for 3 months alone before the move was complete. When I got moved back in with my family I found the 2 children that I loved, and had always found to be enjoyable to be around and well behaved were now noisy little pains in the ass whos every move grated on my last nerve.
This is how it was for me hearing Dave back on the show, I had gotten use to the current laid back, but still hilarious flow of banter the show has now, the reintroduction of the Guns-n-Roses screaching that I once found fun was just grating on my last nerve. But just like my kids, I'm sure I would get use to Dave again.

Hearing Ron, Davey, and Pep (and the callers) together was totally enjoyable for me.

If there was any possible way of getting Davey back for even just one steady, recurring, day each week .... I'd be really happy.


Absolutely - his "bearded Charlie Sheen" run-in was great. A weekly "run-in" as a character or just to do one of his patented bits would be awesome.

I miss Dave on the show and wish he would be on the show more often in some capacity. His podcast with Pepper is good for your weekly Dave fix.

The show is JUST as good as it ever was...you just have to play the fast forward game.

When they get locked on a subject for five or more minutes where Ron tries to talk sense to Fez, but Fez wont change his mind (a process I call "poke the retard"), go ahead fifteen minutes.

Whenever gay topics come up, or Fez starts crying, go ahead a half hour.

Keeps the show fresh and energetic. Just like the old days.
