So i've been having a discussion that has now spanned across two days over this stupid article on gawker.com that some people think is incredibly racist and offensive, and i just don't see it. click on the links and check out the other pictures related to the article to get the whole story. I'm obviously NJGutter on gawker and you can follow my discussion if you choose (my debate with the person on the site is in reference to pics found through the link where students dressed up as stereotypical mexicans for a mexican/american themed booze bash). I think it's pretty easy to feel out who is a true racist and who is joking. Some seem to hide it as much as they can, but ultimately it comes out somewhere. It's not just cut and dry of course, as some people have individual based racism while others seem to come from a more institutionalized hate. Now, am I a bad person because what immediately came to my mind is "N- rich"? I mean, it seems like the definition of the phrase, in that it's excessive and wasteful behavior.
