This is the ninth year we've had a league among members of the board. We've got a few spots open this year. If you decide to play and stick around for the whole year I'll send you an invite for the next years league.

The league is pretty standard - 12 team roto with 5x5 scoring. Draft is a few days before opening day.

I joined, as always, i love this league.

Can someone else start a non-roto league? the roto one is rough 1/2 way through the season if you are in the bottom third, there is no way to climb back in. I would like a head to head league.

A lot of people were pissed because I was the previous years champ and they wanted to beat me. Anyway everyone in that league hated head to head and this year they are back to roto.

see i feel like once you are out in roto, you are out. no trades and hot streaks can bring you back into the mix. also, it is way less managing that wins it for you. matchups and nothing matter, because it is just season stats so a little mistake here and there do not make a difference. where in head to head, you have to focus on every week.

I totally disagree. You need to always look at free agents for pick ups. Try to get 2 start pitchers in when you can and if you feel the match ups are good. Head to head has always been for football because its not that long or everyday like baseball. Every head to head league I was in was a daily change league and no one has the time to really do that. With roto you do you research on Sunday set your line up and your good for the week.

The draft should be important and like you said one bad move your done. Thats not always true but drafting poorly should hurt!

MLB fantasy is great. It can be commonplace to win or loose some points on just a few percentage points. There are 5 given on offence and pitching.

If you go all out for wins and k's, era and whip can kill you. Although a great bullpen can help bring those down some.

I have been doing this even though my starters are off to a bad start. I know these guys are good and will pull it around. There are new pitchers that fill in, some do real well. If they don't keep it up, they will get cut. I like to pick up these kind of pitchers at times. But feel they need to be watched over more.

So, my whole league is mad at me for trading Ryan Braun for Carl Crawford and Tim Hudson. I think they know absolutely nothing about baseball because they are overrating the first month of the season, and the idea that Crawford will bat .135 and Braun will hit .382 this year is mindboggling to me. What say you?

it depends what you need. were u alright with power? if you were and wanted to get some speed in return then its fine, plus you got a viable arm. It also depends on what kind of league youre in, is it roto or head to head?

you always need to examine these trades in terms of your team, not what these guys are on their face. did you improve your team by sacrificing power for speed and pitching? if you did, then its a good trade for you

Head to head, agree with everything you said. The people in my league literally think Crawford is done. It's beyond confusing to me how someone could think a player was worth the 7th overall pick, then 3 weeks later think he's done. As if no great player has ever slumped.

If Crawford picks it up.., I don't feel he will (adjustment phase) I see he has 4 SB thats fine he still has to get on base however.

Just dropped 2 players not getting it done. For 2 with better stats, one homered night before and other the same day. The ones I dropped both homered just after the move. Ha!
