Ron "Movie Snob" Bennington makes fun of the original whenever it comes up in conversation. I think it's the highest grossing comedy of all time - so, of course, it's the hip thing for all of the cool kids to make fun of it and say how much it sucks.

I, for one, am not afraid to admit that I liked it for what it was - loud, crude, over-the-top slapstick fun. I even went dressed as Alan to a Halloween party in October (another reason for snobbie Mr. B to look down his nose at me).

Yeah, it's NOT Citizen Kane. But somehow Animal House is considered a classic but this thing is akin to contracting ocular cancer?

Having said all that - I don't get a good feeling about the sequel based on this teaser trailer that was just released. I hope they pull it off and prove me wrong, but I'm kind of doubting it. It's probably not a movie that lends itself to a sequel. But then they would be leaving a lot of money on the table if they didn't do it.

I have watched the hangover multiple times (always on HBO) and its still funny. I usually never watch movies more than once. the hangover just doesn't get old gets old. I even got the soundboard on my evo. That song the dude sings about the tiger in the bathroom is awesome.

Your right about that trailer got a weird vibe, except for zach g in that sweet shirt.

Im the 1st to admit that I didnt think the 1st one was that funny. Then I rewatched it a few months later and picked up some of the shit I missed or didnt like etc. Now I do agree it is a very funny movie, one of the funniest movies in a long time.

I will watch the sequel but I agree this could be bad, really bad. It may have some funny moments but comedy sequels usually arent that funny because they use too many of the jokes from the originals but try to spin it a little differently. But everyone knows what they were doing so the funny thing loses its funny!

I think Ron actually said it was pretty funny, just not great.

I thought the first one was okay, but nowhere near as hysterical as it was hyped to be. It probably would have been better if I had never heard anything about it going in, but my expectations were set really high and it just didn't live up to the immense hype surrounding it.

That said, I will still watch the second one, but I won't go in with huge expectations.

I think it's an A+.

It's a "real" movie... that happens to be funny. It's not shot or photographed like a comedy. And it doesn't really pander (except perhaps for the song about tigers taking a snooze).

The plot is real and unpredictable. The actors treat it like they're in a movie that's much more serious. And...the comedy is consistent. It starts funny, and it stays funny.

I predict that the sequel will suck. The magic will be overused. Too bad.

Ed Helms has the Mike Tyson face tattoo now? Who is going to want to go to a dentist with a face tattoo? He should have thought about that before getting it.

[david spade] I liked it better the first time I saw it when it was called Due Date. And by liked it I mean hated it. [/david spade]

The first was fine, but I can't help but think the people who say it's OMG BEST EVER are the type who are easily influenced by popular opinion.

I thought the sequel would suck balls, however I was surprised.

As long as you remember that its a slapsticky mess...it's actually kind of fun.

The OG was great but the sequel sucked.
This is the greatest dip in quality since Escape From LA.

That's saying something, because Escape from NY was a fucking horrendous movie.

Even if Bradley Cooper fucked your chick, it's an overreach to say it was worse than Escape from NY.

I was really surprised to enjoy the first one so much. I saw the new ads for part 2 with the monkey, and it reminded me of that first episode of The Office where David Brent is so tickled by the mere presence of a stuffed monkey toy. Except Gervais was being satirical about hack animal devices, and Hangover2 is apparently just using it because that's part of the extruded-pap recipe of a mass-market comedy.

Escape From LA is perhaps the worst movie ever made. certain the worst in the last 20 years

Still have yet to see the sequel, but I didn't see the original until a month ago and it met all my expectations, even with the hype that's been building for 2 years. Anyone who says the first wasn't good is just a miserable cynic.

The first one was a pisser, but I'm waiting for the new one to make it to Netflix. It looks like they went to the well one too many times as it is so I hope the rumors of a Part 3 are just that.

I didnt watch part 2 yet but after the opening weekend I was talking to people about this and said there is no way there isnt a part 3. The amount of money they brought in is all that matters. Even if part 2 sucked it made so much money they will at least make a part 3 to see if they can capitalize off the financial success!
